Th… Read Full Bio ↴I can haz synth? Yes you can and lots of it, [heart] the L.E.D.s.
The evolution of The L.E.D.s began four short years ago in Christchurch, NZ - courtesy of Marcus Thomas and Blair Parkes who, in 2004, formed "Thomas:Parkes" after both being involved in several guitar-based bands over the previous years.
After writing and releasing the album "Big Machine" as Thomas:Parkes, Marcus and Blair decided to expand the sound.
The introduction of Helen Greenfield (formally of "Barnard's Star") to the line-up introduced more feline synth, luscious vocals, and a dash of strings to the mix. This, of course, made the name "Thomas:Parkes" not only obsolete but incorrect and the search for a new name began. After exchanging many txts and e-mails and much googling (to ensure the name was unique); Helen, Marcus, and Blair settled on the name "The L.E.D.s" - not least because it was a cool name and the omnipresent light emitting diodes on their gear... (mmmm)
Towards the end of 2006, the L.E.D.s released their debut album titled "...we are the L.E.D.s". The album contained several singles that charted in the RDU Top 10 and led to the eccentric Dr Hitchcock including "Modernist Cut" on the compilation "This is not the chch sound".
Following the production of a music video for the second single "Rumba", The L.E.D.s asked drummer Daniel Batkin-Smith to join the band in an effort to step up the live performances. The L.E.D.s continue to use programmed beats mixed with live drums during their live performances and still manage to record and write new material despite being split between Christchurch and Wellington.
Together their powers combine to create catchy, electro-fuelled pop and a super-good time. After several synth-licious, crowd-pleasing performances in Christchurch and a tour as part of the Karajoz Public Address Great Blend, the L.E.D.s are currently working on a new album, scheduled for release in the first half of 2008.

The L.E.D.S Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
There's not a man alive that wouldn't want to hold her
And the way she moves, just the way she moves
Well, that's enough to keep me on a slow burn
Keep me on a slow burn
In her high heals kicking 'cross the dance floor
She's more woman than I could ever ask for
That's love and that keeps me on a slow burn
Keeps me on a slow burn
When we touch this fire breaks out
And it rages out of control
And the love we made is so deep, so strong
And when it's over, even when it's over
And the flame dies down
It just dies down to a slow burn, slow burn
And the love we made is so deep, so strong
That when it's over, even when it's over
And the flame dies down
It just dies down to a slow burn, a slow burn
A slow burn, slow burn
She's got that dark hair falling 'cross her shoulders
Keeps me on a slow burn
In her high heals kicking 'cross the dance floor
Keeps me on a slow burn
When we touch, when we touch
, this fire breaks out, and it rages out of control. The L.E.D.S's song "Slow Burn" is a love song that describes the intense passion and desire the singer has towards his lover. The first verse describes the physical attractiveness of the woman and the way she moves, which is enough to keep the singer burning with desire, even if the relationship is progressing slowly. The second verse emphasizes the emotional connection the singer has with the woman, despite her physical beauty. Although their love is passionate and intense, it also has a slow and steady burn that keeps it going.
The chorus describes the intensity of their physical relationship, with the fire breaking out and raging out of control when they touch. Even when the flame dies down, their love remains strong and deep, and it just becomes a slow burn. The bridge reinforces the powerful connection the singer has with his lover, emphasizing the depth and strength of their love, even after the physical passion has died down.
Overall, "Slow Burn" is a love song that celebrates passion and desire, but also emphasizes the importance of emotional connection and steady commitment. The song encourages listeners to embrace the slow burn of love, rather than just focusing on the initial excitement of physical attraction.
