1. The Lads are a three piece Christian rock band formed in New Zealand in 1993. In early 2005 the band moved to America, and they are currently residing in Nashville, Tennessee. When discussing the move to America many of the previous members were unable to leave prior commitments in New Zealand, and major line-up changes resulted. The current line-up consists of Mark Millard (vocals), Tim Smith (guitars) and Steve King (drums). They have released a total of eight albums in their 15 year history, two of which won Gospel Album of the Year at the NZ Music Awards (Marvel and The Lads). They performed at every Parachute Music Festival from 1993-2005, earning them a cult status among many fans.
2. The Lads were a Bedford, MA indie group. The Lads played a tight skillful new wave oriented sound coupled with power pop influences. Their one and only album is soaked with bright, energetic and effectual melodies that stand up to any of the more popular acts from the early 80's. Out From The Shadows is highly recommended for the collector searching for a satisfying private press entry and desires a getaway from those more commercial offerings of the day.
3. Punk from sunny Buffalo, New York

When I was nowhere
You knew where that was
I never lost my way
And You were the cause
When I was no-one
Gonna end it right there
You stood behind me
(V2)
You heard my heart break
Felt the pain of my fall
You were there to save me
And waited for my call
I lived without You
Like You were not there
You never gave up on me
I never knew You cared
(CH)
Now I hear You
Now I see You
Now I understand
(V3)
I wanted everything
That wasn't nailed down
I wanted happiness
But not You around
You see my weakness
And still You're prepared
To let them nail You down
I never knew You cared
(BRIDGE)
I came to Your arms
From where I was then
Broken
You were crucified
It was for me that You died
You're my pride
Now I hear You
Now I see You
The song "Understand" by The Lads is a powerful testimony of God's love and faithfulness. The lyrics of the song depict a reflection on the past life of the songwriter, who was lost and living without God's love. In the first verse, the songwriter acknowledges that even in the moments when he was lost and without direction, God was always there with him, guiding him and providing him with direction. Despite his initial rejection of God's love and presence, God never gave up on him and continued to stand behind him, quietly supporting him every step of the way.
The songwriter then goes on to describe how God was there for him in his darkest moments, even when he was at his lowest point. God was always ready to save him, waiting for his call and listening to the cries of his heart. The songwriter realizes that despite his rejection of God's love and presence, God never stopped caring for him.
The chorus of the song, "Now I hear You, Now I see You, Now I understand" represents a powerful moment of realization and salvation for the songwriter. He has finally come to understand the depth of God's love and the extent of his sacrifices for him. The songwriter acknowledges that he was living a materialistic life and seeking happiness in all the wrong places, but God was always there, watching him, and waiting for him to come to him.
Overall, the song "Understand" is a beautiful depiction of the transformative power of God's love and the overwhelming grace and mercy he extends towards his children.
