Dr. Stone
The Leaves Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You ask to hear what I say
I know that you feel alone
come and see my good friend Dr. Stone
I can tell you what's in store
I can take you to his door
Yourself and you alone
All except for good old Dr. Stone
I know what is wrong with you
I felt that way too
Listen to what I do
He will ease your troubled mind
He will make the past unwind
You'll find your never all alone
When you're in the home of Dr. Stone
When you're in the home of Dr. Stone
Come into the home of Dr. Stone
The Leaves's song Dr. Stone is about feeling lost and alone, and seeking comfort and support from a friend who recommends visiting a man named Dr. Stone. The lyrics describe the benefits of seeing him, such as receiving guidance, finding peace of mind, and feeling like one is not alone. The song highlights the importance of seeking help when feeling down and lost, and that there is always someone who can offer support and guidance. The repeated phrase, "come into the home of Dr. Stone," implies that Dr. Stone's place is a welcoming environment where one can feel safe and taken care of.
The song can be interpreted as a metaphor for seeking mental health support. Those who are struggling with mental health issues often feel alone and isolated, and reaching out for help can be difficult. The lyrics suggest that receiving professional help, such as therapy, can bring tremendous benefits to individuals who are struggling with mental health issues. Dr. Stone can be seen as a therapist or mental health professional who provides support and guidance to those in need.

Sands of time
Never heard of this group up until a few years ago. I've heard a few songs and seen a couple of bands in my time and my impression is that this was a super group, best in genre , along with the Litter from MN.

@Der Glaetze Only two years late, but hey that's how I roll, Lol. Never heard these groups back in the day living up in New England. But I agree with you, some of the best of that genre of that time. The Groovie's were pretty great too, but sadly overlooked by the masses too. Happy holidays to you. Check out, Freddie & The Dreamers, Some other guy, 1967, Beat Club

Sands of time wow I thought I was the only one left in this world who dug the Litter.
I have a vinyl of their Emerge album. It cranks. They were insanely good and tragically overlooked. The leaves are truly up there too. Rock on brother. PS- Check out the Flamin’ Groovies too. I will definitely get your attention too.
