Steady are you ready for me?
Steady are you ready?
Steady are you ready for me?
Come a little closer,
take another bite.
Steady are you ready for my rockin' tonight?
Come across the ocean.
Come across the ocean.
Come across the ocean for me.
Come a little closer,
take another bite.
Steady are you ready for my baby tonight?
Steady are you ready?
Steady are ready for me?
Steady are you ready?
Steady are you ready for me?
Come a little closer,
take another bite...
The lyrics to The London Souls's song Steady seem to be about a confident and seductive person who is inviting their potential lover to come closer and experience their "rockin' tonight." The repetition of "Steady are you ready?" creates a sense of anticipation and excitement, almost as if the singer is daring the listener to keep up with their energy. By including lines such as "Come across the ocean for me," and "Take another bite," the singer is using metaphors to suggest that the experience of being with them will be adventurous and enjoyable. Ultimately, the lyrics convey a sense of confidence and playfulness that is infectious and alluring.
One way to interpret these lyrics is to view them through the lens of rock and roll music. The genre is often associated with a sense of rebellion and freedom, and by using words such as "rockin'" and "ocean" the singer is evoking a sense of adventure that is often associated with rock music. Additionally, by repeating the phrase "Steady are you ready?" the singer is creating a sense of rhythm and momentum that is reminiscent of the steady beat of rock music.
In a broader sense, the lyrics to Steady could be interpreted as a celebration of the human spirit. By inviting the listener to come closer and experience their energy, the singer is encouraging a sense of exploration and curiosity that is essential to the human experience. Furthermore, by using metaphors such as "ocean" and "rockin'," the singer is suggesting that life itself is a journey that is both thrilling and unpredictable.
