The Lonely Island Lyrics

There's a party tonight in Ibitha
We're gonna dance and eat pizza
Zesty, spicy, tasty, and lifely
Super sexy, not sexy slightly
Everyone is showing skin
DJ, let the record spin
In Ibitha-tha-tha-tha
Every day the fiesta-sta-sta-sta
Speakers boom on the dance floor-floor-floor
Everyone is a star-star-star
Our tummies are full of Paella
Here's a recipe of the Paella
Steamy broth, sweet peas and lobsters
Tonight we eat like the conquistadors
There's a place far away making lots of noise
Where the boys are girls and the girls are boys
The vibes are full of love and peace
And people sound like they got their gap in their teeth
But they don't
In Ibitha-tha-tha-tha
Every day the fiesta-sta-sta-sta
Speakers boom on the dance floor-floor-floor
Everyone is a star-star-star
(There's a place far away making lots of noise
Where the boys are girls and the girls are boys
The vibes are full of love and peace
And people sound like they got their gap in their teeth
There's a place far away making lots of noise
Where the boys are girls and the girls are boys
The vibes are full of love and peace
And people sound like they got their gap in their teeth
But they don't)
The Lonely Island's song "Ibitha" is a tongue-in-cheek ode to the party lifestyle of the Spanish island of Ibiza. The refrain of the song centers around a party in Ibiza, where everyone is showing skin and dancing to the DJ's record. The lyrics describe the food, atmosphere, and general vibe of the island's party scene, with references to the Spanish dish paella and the inclusive, free-spirited attitudes of its attendees.
The lyrics also make fun of the tendency of people in Ibiza to affect a laidback, hippie-ish persona, as well as their tendency to adopt the local accent, with references to the way people in Ibiza sound like they have a gap in their teeth when they speak. The repetition of the phrase "There's a place far away making lots of noise, where the boys are girls and the girls are boys," is a reference to the island's reputation for gender-bending and fluidity, and the generally hedonistic nature of the party-goers.
Overall, the song can be interpreted as a playful but affectionate send-up of the party culture on the island of Ibiza, with a focus on the food, fashion, and free-spirited attitudes that make it such a unique and memorable destination.
