The couple started working on music after a chance meeting with Jarvis Cocker, who wrote them the songs 'La Degustation', 'Fred de Fred' and 'Basque Country'. These songs feature on their self-titled debut album, "The Lovers", which was co-produced by Dean Honer and Parrot of All Seeing I, Kevin Bacon and Jon Quarmby (Finley Quaye, Pretenders etc...), Leigh Devlin and Robin Downe.
The Lovers have been at the forefront of the 'Neo Burlesque'/'Gypsy Madness' mouvement, often playing with 'Lost Vagueness'.
They have collaborated in the past with Richard Hawley, Kings Have Long Arms frontman Adrian Flanagan, Afterflife, Budnubac, they also formed part of I Monster's live show.
In previous work, Fred worked for Sheffield studio FON.
Marion is a former bunny girl, who has worked with producers such as Nellee Hooper, and wrote the song 'Wonderland', which took Moloko's Rรณisรญn Murphy to number two in the dance charts.
Their music has attracted a rapidly growing audience, reaching from the duoโs adopted home of Sheffield to all over the UK, The Netherlands, Germany and Singapore.Their recordings have graced TV adverts ('La Le', used on TV advert for McDonalds; 'Crik Crak', on a number of others (Robinsons Fruit Juice etc...); 'French Kiss', on the soundtrack of BBC TV series 'Sugar Rush' ) and are even being used as a grammatical teaching tool by Linguascope and the French Board of Education.

Flori met their organ player Ari while they were both ditching school...and their drummer is an old friend of them.
The Lovers members come from a quite diverse musical background (punk, garage, 60s, surf, electro) but their main influence is good old 60s garage sound.....

Woman in Love
The Lovers Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
my head is everywhere
but everything is new
Taking on the world
breathing in the old
but everything is new
like it's the first time
I'm not in control.
I'm in love, I'm in love, I'm in love
What do we say now?
I've got no idea
Changing what I know
learning to be more
now everything is new
Close to what I am
and further from who I was
now everything is new
I'm in love, I'm in love, I'm in love
like it's the first time
I'm not in control.
I'm in love, I'm in love, I'm in love
What do we say now?
I've got no idea

The chorus repeats the line "I'm in love, I'm in love, I'm in love" which emphasizes the overwhelming feeling of being in love, almost like it's the first time. This is a dream come true. I loved this book, and to see it come to life (with Richard Madden no less!) is quite exciting! Well done BBC!

This was the first novel that I read in my life. I loved it and I still love it.
I have not seen the serie because it is not subtitled and my english isnยดt as good as I would like to read and watch it. But I really like it.

Dammit BBC, why do you refuse to release this brilliant-looking 2015 adaptation of Lady Chatterly's Lover here in The US? No DVD release nor do you allow it to be featured in any streaming services like BritBox & Acorn TV either. WTF. I want to see this so bad.
I've been a huge fan of Richard Madden ever since Game of Thrones, Holiday Grainger is amazing in everything she's been in and I miss seeing Sydney in Grantchester.

This adaptation is good, but would have benefitted from being 15-30 minutes longer. Also, if we had been given more insight into Constance. Too often her love towards Olivers looks more like a reaction to her hubby rather than outright love for Oliver. (Also, it should have kept the context of Oliver's wife mistreating him -- not the cheating on him -- which is why he's so grumpy towards Constance at first.)

Even in the book I couldn't fathom what caused her attraction to Mellors. She barely knew anything about him, they barely spoke, there was no mention of her finding him physically attractive either. N then he tells her to lie on thefloor after seeing her cry... n humps her while she lies there not moving. Honestly I didnt see the appeal in the book, it all seemed rather disturbing and unhealthy

@TJ Judge It is DH Lawrence's anthropocentric view of women. He is promoting the idea that we all like men to be dominant and controlling.
In the 1993 version, she keeps hanging around the hut. When they are close together looking at the pheasant chicks, he makes a move and she runs away. But the next day she is back again and Mellors shows concern for her reputation and his own emotional well-being.
