Eddie and Taras met when they were in highschool, at different highschools. Taras went to a highschool in the city that noone has ever heard of for some reason, and Ed went to pretty much the prison highschool of the Eastern Suburbs. they were pretty much in a cult together when they were young, doing heaps of intense "spiritual workshopping", but that ended sort of badly (and goodly, but it was overall probably a good learning curve). A while passed and they had a few bands, but then decided to be serious, real serious. they met marcus at the beach one day, at the boat ramp, and knew that he played bass and he was noticeable cuz of a huge scar going down where his heart is. plus he was just chilling a lot and going to AIM a bit so it was easy to nab him. Taras met toms sister in india, and she said her brother wanted to learn some piano, so he taught him some piano, but he (tom) was a sick drummer as well so they got him in as well cuz taras promised that he'd take him in if he ever started a band (it wasnt a movie-like promise, it was just tom was a real quick learner and could play heaps of instruments so it was a no brainer). angus came last, he was a friend of toms, and he was pretty much in when he helped the band cover that earth wind and fire song that goes "and gliiiiiiideeee like a seven-forty-seven" (their song titles always are jumbled in my mind).
Things Change

When I came knocking on your door
I guess I'll try it another day
Things change
You were a story, a story on my mind
Even with the pages deep inside
I guess I'll find it one day
And so I looked around there when I saw the sun
She said to take a quick left but I took the right
I said to my soul watch her sickly unfold
The world is watching and it's out of control
I wonder where, where did it go away
I think about you nearly every day
And it takes me quite back and I will get real soon
Still, still walking to the same old tune
Like kinds, and living every day
I'm sorry I may have felt the same
Could you love me
I wanna be your babe
Oh that's fine it happens every day
Things change
Things change
So I trembled alone while you say my name
I sold myself to a higher day
They sold me up I, I touched the sky
Then she went and left me behind
I hate this world I curse your name
I built this world from all the same
But it, could never be
And so you think you know someone
And you think you belong
Until they're sucking your life
And turn it all into rum
This ain't my phone and I'm taking to long
I wanna get out
Yeah I wanna go home
And then I walk downtown to the video store
I come to find it wasn't there no more
Things change
Things get in the way
Like kinds, so living every day
I'm sorry I may have felt the same
Could you love me
I wanna be your babe
Oh that's fine it happens every day
Things change
Things change
Things change
The overall theme of The Lulu Raes's "Things Change" is about how unpredictable and constantly changing life can be, particularly in relationships. The opening line "No, I knew you once well long ago" is a clear indication that the singer and the subject of the song have a complex history that began a long time ago. The lines "I guess I'll try it another day / Things change" are sung in a melancholy tone that suggests the singer has little hope of mending the relationship they once had.
The lines "And so I looked around there when I saw the sun / She said to take a quick left but I took the right" indicate that the singer is lost and doesn't know what direction to go in. The singer realizes that the world is rapidly changing and becoming increasingly difficult to navigate.
The chorus of the song, "Like kinds, so living every day / I'm sorry I may have felt the same / Could you love me / I wanna be your babe / Oh that's fine it happens every day / Things change", highlights the unpredictability of relationships, and the singer's desire to be loved and accepted despite how much they've both changed.
Overall, "Things Change" is a reflective and melancholy song about the uncertainties of life and the changes that inevitably come with it.

No, I knew you once well long ago
I am familiar with who you used to be
When I came knocking on your door
When I first met you in the past
I guess I'll try it another day
Maybe another day we will reconcile
Things change
People change over time
You were a story, a story on my mind
You were always on my mind like a story I couldn't forget
Even with the pages deep inside
Even with time passing by, you were still in my thoughts
I guess I'll find it one day
I know I will find the answers I seek someday
Things change
People and things in life change unpredictably
And so I looked around there when I saw the sun
I took a moment to observe my surroundings
She said to take a quick left but I took the right
Someone gave me advice, but I chose my own path
I said to my soul watch her sickly unfold
I felt like my environment was becoming toxic
The world is watching and it's out of control
I felt like everything around me was in chaos
I wonder where, where did it go away
I wonder where things went wrong
I think about you nearly every day
You are still always on my mind
And it takes me quite back and I will get real soon
Thinking of you brings me back to the past and I will confront reality soon
Still, still walking to the same old tune
I am still living a life that is not fulfilling
Like kinds, and living every day
Living life like everyone else
I'm sorry I may have felt the same
I apologize if I ever hurt you too
Could you love me
Can't you love me for who I really am?
I wanna be your babe
I want to be with you
Oh that's fine it happens every day
It's okay, these things happen every day
So I trembled alone while you say my name
I felt vulnerable and alone when you called out my name
I sold myself to a higher day
I put my hope in a better future
They sold me up I, I touched the sky
I believed in something bigger and felt elevated
Then she went and left me behind
But then I was abandoned and left to face reality on my own
I hate this world I curse your name
I don't like the way things are and I blame you for some of it
I built this world from all the same
I contributed to the same problems I am frustrated with
But it, could never be
But things can never remain the same
And so you think you know someone
You think you know someone well
And you think you belong
And you think you are a part of their life
Until they're sucking your life
Until they start to drain you of who you are
And turn it all into rum
And turn your life into something bitter
This ain't my phone and I'm taking to long
I am not on the right path and it's taking me too long to realize
I wanna get out
I want to escape my current situation
Yeah I wanna go home
I want to be in a place where I am comfortable
And then I walk downtown to the video store
I reminisce about the past by visiting places I used to go to
I come to find it wasn't there no more
I realize that things have changed and nothing is the same
Things change
Life changes and we must adapt to it
Things get in the way
Things in life can become obstacles that block our path
