Their first CD was the award-winning State Street, a joint project with Tangled Up in Blue, the women's a capella group at UW - Madison. Both groups were honored to have a track chosen to appear on the 2002 Best of College A Capella CD. Thanks in part to the publicity that generated, the MadHatters were able to take a concert tour in January of 2003, when they traveled to the East Coast to perform at Harvard University and in New York City.
The MadHatters released their second album, No Jacket Required, in the fall of 2003. It was a live recording of their sold-out spring 2003 concert at the Orpheum theatre in downtown Madison. The group took another tour in January 2004, stopping in no less than eight cities along the West Coast. On August 17, 2004, the group had the honor of singing the National Anthem for over 41,000 people at Miller Park when the Brewers played the Cubs.
In April 2005, the group released their long-awaited studio followup to State Street, entitled Friday After Class.
