1) The Maroons were a band from NYC that existed from 1978 to 1981. In 1979 they released the rare powerpop classic No Condition/Out Tonight 7β³. They played all of the historic local clubs - CBGB, Max's Kansas City, The Ritz, Irving Plaza, Kenny's Castaways, Folk City. They received interest by a small (soon to be BIG) record company called Virgin Records, also A & M records was interested. They split in 1982, later coming together in various incarnations, including the Rockaholics and the Gentlemen Callers. They were featured in the "Rock Annual" book in the "New Faces in Rock" section in 1980.
2)The Maroons deliver exhilarating, highly melodic pop music that is sugary sweet, but not afraid to rock. Frontman John Moen has played drums for such artists as Elliot Smith, The Spinanes and Heatmiser, and is a current member of both Stephen Malkmus and The Jicks and The Decemberists. Keyboardist Mike Clark also plays guitar for Stephen Malkmus and The Jicks, guitarist Jim Talstra was a member of Minus 5 and John Cox is a member of Satan's Pilgrims.

We keep goin' back and forth, oh
Why can't you just tell me how you're feeling?
Why can't you admit it?
I told you everything about me
Quick, give me some Novocaine
It's almost like you're pulling me closer
But I like the change
I know you think that love's temporary
But please don't compare me to
Anybody, anybody, anybody else now, yeah
Tell me you ain't fallin', but I see you on the way down, whoa
I just can't leave you alone
We keep goin' back and forth, oh
Why can't you just tell me how you're feelin'?
Why can't you admit it?
I told you everything about me
I just can't leave you alone
We keep comin' back for more, oh
Why can't you just tell me how you're feelin'?
Why can't you admit it?
I told you everything about me
So tell me somethin' about you
Everything you been through
So what's you got to lose?
So what's you got to lose?
It can be about the past
Or something brand new
What do we got to lose?
What do we got to lose?
Please don't compare me to
Anybody, anybody, anybody else now (else now), oh
Tell me you ain't fallin', but I see you on the way down, whoa
I just can't leave you alone
We keep goin' back and forth, oh

Why can't you admit it?
I told you everything about me
I just can't leave you alone
We keep goin' back for more, oh
Why can't you just tell me how you're feelin'?
Why can't you admit it?
I told you everything about me (yeah)
She throw the pass to the devil, and I intercept, yeah (oh)
Have you ever had a make out session with death? Yeah (oh, yeah)
In a strip club, tryna get all the pretty girls to dance
Yeah, yeah, yeah, huh
I remember back in high school
They said I wouldn't stand a chance, chance (chance, chance)
I just can't leave you alone
We keep goin' back and forth, oh
Why can't you just tell me how you're feelin'?
Why can't you admit it?
I told you everything about me
I just can't leave you alone
We keep comin' back for more, oh
Why can't you just tell me how you're feelin'?
Why can't you admit it?
I told you everything about me (yeah)
So tell me somethin' about you
So tell me somethin' about you
The lyrics to "Can You Feel?" by The Maroons explore the complexities and uncertainties of a romantic relationship. The singer admits their inability to walk away from their partner, even though they constantly find themselves in a cycle of push and pull. They long for their partner to be honest about their feelings and emotions, questioning why they can't simply admit their true emotions. The singer has opened up and shared everything about themselves, hoping for the same level of vulnerability from their partner.
The lyrics also touch upon the concept of change in the relationship. The singer acknowledges that their partner may believe love is temporary, but they don't want to be compared to anyone else. They observe their partner's resistance to falling in love, yet they can see that their partner is on the path towards falling anyways.
Furthermore, the lyrics express a desire for deeper connection and understanding. The singer asks their partner to share something about themselves, both the past and present, emphasizing that there is nothing to lose in being open and vulnerable. They want to bridge the gap between them and build a stronger foundation.
Overall, "Can You Feel?" delves into the challenges, longing, and hope within a complicated romantic relationship, where communication and emotional honesty play significant roles.

Met me in Golden Grove Market Place
He looked at my old clothes brown with stain
And soaked right trough with the Portland rain
He cast his eyes he turn up his nose
He says βYouβre a beggar man I suppose?β
He says βBoy get some occupation, be of some value to your nationβ
I said, βBy God and did big right hand you must recognize a banana manβ β¦..

Farm living will certainly fit you Ms. Dee. You will make a good wife and help mate to a fruitful purposeful man, who will love and cherish you and not hurt your heart.
One thing with Jamaican people, they are very hospitable and will not let you leave before offering their visitors something to eat and drink, plus even take back food items from the farm.

Jamaicans are beautiful people at heart. I love their being their hospitality spirit. Thatβs the African spirit in them.
Iβm from Zimbabwe Bob Marley came to Zimbabwe to celebrate our 1st Independence. Other groups followed Peter Tosh, UB40. A group called Mist in Roots came and refused to go back. President Mugabe gave them a farm to leave. Until now they are in Zimbabwe.
@kuyahkudey3217
Wow! Thanks for sharing this info about Reggae artist visiting your beautiful country. I want to visit Zim one day. Mr. Mugabe did not get the honor he was due by us all. That's cause we did not know the truth about the great things he did.
I know that he was not perfect but he stud up to the evil West and never waivered. I really appreciate that about him.
Zim is one of the few countries in the whole world that won their true independence from the E*VIL colonizers. I know your people, sadly, paid a high price for this.
@heartbeat6983
