The Merry Thoughts
"If you are to copy a band, either do it right or simply don't; well these guys did it to perfection. The Merry Thoughts [are] the ultimate the Sisters of Mercy clones, and one of the few bands out there that can truly be mistaken for the Sisters of Mercy. From the lead singer's voice who skillfully captures the Eldritch tonality, to the guitars, bass and drums, all carbon copies....well they even have the equivalent of Doktor Avalanche and they called their Drummachine: the Thoughtmachine!
... the quality of the songs is as good as the Sisters of Mercy songs...
Both of The Merry Thoughts' full length albums, Millenium Done I: Empire Songs and Psychocult are highly recommended. I can't think of a single flaw on either."

Flow
The Merry Thoughts Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Is moving on as i move on
In the day where all the light is
Wishing that the night would come
In the night, a wait for hours
Waiting for the crack of dawn
In the move around, and round and round
In hoping that the change would come
Hoping that the change would come
These hands could heal your wounds
These hands could bring you down
These hands could heal your wounds
These hands could bring you down
It's high time
The Merry Thoughts's song "Flow" is a reflection on the passage of time and the cyclical nature of life. The opening line "It's a time where time is time" can be interpreted as a recognition of the inevitable passing of time, which we are all subject to. The singer acknowledges their own movement through time, as they move on and time moves on around them. The desire for change is expressed through the contrast of day and night, with the singer wishing for nightfall in the hopes that a new day will bring something different.
The repetition of the phrase "In the move around, and round and round" reflects the cycle of life and its constant motion, while the repeated line "Hoping that the change would come" expresses the longing for something different. The singer's recognition of their own power to both heal and destroy with their hands adds a sense of personal responsibility to the song, reminding us that we have the power to impact the world around us in meaningful ways.
Overall, "Flow" is a contemplative song that invites the listener to reflect on the passage of time, their own place in the world, and the potential for change that lies within them.
