The Mexico Mariachis Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Guadalajara, Guadalajara
Guadalajara, Guadalajara

Tienes el alma de provinciana
Hueles a limpia rosa temprana
A verde jara fresca del rio
Son mil palomas tu caserio
Guadalajara, Guadalajara
Hueles a pura tierra mojada

Ay ay ay ay! Colomito Lejano
Ay! Ojitos de agua hermanos

Ay! Colomitos inolvidables
Inolvidables como las tardes
En que la lluvia desde la loma
No nos dejaba ir a Zapopan

Ay ay ay ay! Tlaquepaque pueblito

Tus olorosos jarritos
Hacen mas fresco el dulce tepache
Junto a la birria con el mariachi
Que en los parianes y alfarerias
Suena con triste melancolia

Ay ay ay ay! Laguna de Chapala

Tienes de un cuento la magia
Cuento de ocasos y de alborada
S de enamoradas noches lunadas
Quieta, Chapala, es tu laguna
Novia romántica como ninguna

Ay ay ay ay! Zapopitan del alma
Nunca escuché otras campanas
Como las graves de tu convento
Donde se alivian mis sufrimientos

Triste Zapopan
Misal abierto donde son frailes mis sentimientos

Ay ay ay ay! Guadalajara Hermosa
Quiero decirte una cosa

Tu que conservas agua del pozo
Y en tus mujeres el fiel rebozo

Guadalajara, Guadalajara
Tienes el alma mas mexicana

Ay ay ay! Ay ay ay!
Ay ay ay! Ay ay ay!

Overall Meaning

The Mexico Mariachis's song Guadalajara is a beautiful tribute to the city of Guadalajara, known as the "Pearl of the West" in Mexico, and its surrounding areas. The lyrics speak of the city's charm, beauty, and enchantment. The song starts with the repetition of the city's name, Guadalajara, giving the listener a sense of the enthusiasm and passion that the Mariachis feel for the city. The lyrics then describe how the city has the soul of a small town with the aroma of a pure, early rose and the fresh scent of green jara from the river. The town is then compared to a home for a thousand doves. The next line speaks of the scent of the pure, wet earth that fills the air, adding to the poetic imagery of the lyrics.

The song continues to speak of the various small towns, villages or cities surrounding Guadalajara like Colomito, Tlaquepaque, and Zapopan, that are known for their specific characteristics. Colomito is referred to as a far-off little dovecote, Tlaquepaque is mentioned for its fragrant jars that make sweet tepache cooler, and Zapopan for its graves where one can alleviate their sufferings. The song speaks of the beautiful Laguna de Chapala, known for its magic and romantic beauty.

Throughout the song, the lyricist praises Guadalajara for being the most Mexican city with its women wearing traditional shawls, conserving water from wells, and its convents where one can alleviate their sufferings. The chorus repeats the city's name, emphasizing its importance and beauty.

Tu conoces a mis bebes

@ZoiAntonia

¿cómo estás, querido?
No golpeaste ningún pie
Estás bien;
¿Cómo es la música de tus piernas?
¿Está todo bien con tu pierna?
Cómo está yendo;
Me alegro
si no te sientes bien envíame un mensaje gracias!❤

@ZoiAntonia

Amar mucho
estos amigos.❤

Just got back from a vacation in Mexico and was promised mariachi by a restaurant, disappointed when two old men came in with a guitar and harp but then got blown away for an hour by sheer talent, memorable.

@macandhercam2828
