There were between 13 and 14 of them on stage at any time. The band is known for lounge music covers of both older and contemporary pop music.
The band became famous in the UK in 1995 when they released a cover version of Oasis' hit song "Wonderwall". Flowers had been recruited by BBC Radio 1 DJ Kevin Greening to cover the 'Hits of 95' for Greening's Saturday show; "Wonderwall" was his first week's project. Chris Evans heard the song and made it 'single of the week' on his Radio 1 breakfast show, telling listeners that this was the original version of the song. The single, issued by London Records under the name The Mike Flowers Pops, was released while the Oasis original was still in the UK Singles Chart, and itself reached the Top 10. Flowers' version peaked at number 2 in the Christmas 1995 chart, beaten to the number 1 spot by Michael Jackson's "Earth Song". Oasis had previously refused to let other novelty acts parody the song, but were said to have enjoyed Flowers' tape so much that they allowed the group to cut it . The B-side of the single featured the songs "Son of God" and "Theme From Memory Man".
Following the success of "Wonderwall", The Mike Flowers Pops toured festivals in Europe as well as British universities. At the end of 1996 they toured Britain with Gary Glitter on his last 'Who's in the Gang' tour. They played large venues including Wembley Arena and Birmingham NEC. A cover version of The Doors' "Light My Fire" also reached the Top 40 of the UK chart.

n. "...The Lemonheads?"
In Richard's own words:
"I admit that sometimes I don't put any work into remixing at all. Sometimes
I just give them an old, completely different track and say, 'Yeah, there's
your remix.' I did that with The Lemonheads. I couldn't be bothered to do
their track 'cause it was so shit. I don't know if they noticed or not 'cause
I never bothered talking to any of them.
"Basically, I was supposed to do it but I forgot the courier was coming that
day. The doorbell rang, and I realised I'd forgotten so I just told him
'Fifteen minutes,' went upstairs, found an old track, taped it off, and gave
it to him. I got paid four grand for that. A nice day's work. I've done that
a few times, but I don't always do it."

One of his best remixes without any doubt

I will never not find more RDJ songs until the end of the time, they seem to seep out of every crack in the universe.
R. ROOKSBY
It's unreleased. Back in the '90s, Aphex Twin was approached by Lemonheads record company & asked to remix one of their songs. Weeks later, a courier arrived at Richard's door to pick up the DAT, but he'd completely forgotten to do the remix &, apparently, hadn't even listened to the source tape. With the courier waiting outside, he supposedly grabbed the nearest random tape & passed it off his Lemonheads overhaul. He got $5,000 and the Lemonheads shelved the “remix". ALLEGEDLY.
Wild Blunt Hickok
Meanwhile other artists he did this to went so far as to make a music video for their "remix".
Ian Taylor
That was confirmed in an interview with MTV so I’m not sure it alleged.
Robert Szordykowski
@Ian Taylor Rich likes to make shit up. Allegedly.
SweetWheatsy
Awesome story, but I think this has to stay as an allegedly. Heard the original song ("Freebase") not too long ago, and there are definitely a lot of components and melodic progressions used in this remix. Still one of his best works tho, hah
FeelMyFerret
He says in an interview he made that tape in 10m.

This is so good. Absolutely love it.
