Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
The Miracles Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Oh the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we've no place to go
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

It doesn't show signs of stoppin'
And i brought some corn for poppin'
The lights are turned way down low
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

When we finally kiss goodnight
Oh i hate to go out in the storm
But if you'll really hold me tight
All the way home i'll be warm

The fire is slowly dying
And my dear, we're still goodbyeing

For as long as you love me so
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

Overall Meaning

The Miracles's song "Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!" is a classic holiday tune that speaks about the coziness of being indoors on a snowy day. The first verse talks about how the weather outside is frightful, yet the fire inside is delightful, setting the perfect stage for a day in. The lines "And since we've no place to go, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow" suggest that despite the snowstorm, there is no reason to be worried about getting somewhere, because the warmth of the fire and the comfort of being inside is all that is necessary, setting the mood for the rest of the song.

The third verse of the song suggests a romantic angle, where two people are kissing goodbye, but are hesitant to leave each other's company in the midst of a winter storm. The lyrics "But if you'll really hold me tight, all the way home, I'll be warm" highlight the intimacy between the two people involved. The final verse talks about the fire dying down, showing that the day is coming to an end, but reiterating that the warmth of love is all that is needed.

Claudette had such an infectious voice! Truly a catchy version of this classic Christmas tune!

Thanks for posting this. It's great to hear Claudette Robinson's voice. She appeared on the early Miracles recordings. She stopped touring in the early sixties due to health problems. I've seen her on Motown Music specials that crop up on PBS funding raising programs. Still looks and sounds great.

@JackHodges

cool! This is one of my favorite Christmas songs and I have been looking for the best version to add to a music playlist on my Christmas channel. It's very nice to have a multi-dimensional video to go with a song than a still picture.
