I treated you bad
And wrong my dear
And girl since,
Since you been away
Dontcha know
I sit around
with my head hangin' down
Who's lovin you
I, I, I, I should have never ever
Ever made you cry
And girl since
Since you been gone
Dontcha know
I sit around
with my head hangin' down
And I wonder
Who's lovin you
Life without love
Is oh so lonely
I dont think
I dont think
I'm gonna make it
All my life
All my life, yeah
belongs to you only
Come on and take it girl
Come on and take it!
Because,
All I can do
All I can do
Since you been gone is cry
And you, oooh
Dontcha know I
Sit around
With my head hangin down
And I wonder
Who's lovin' you
(Who's lovin you)
Who's lovin you.....
The Miracles' song "Who's Loving You" is a classic soul ballad that explores themes of heartbreak, regret, and unfulfilled love. The lyrics are sung from the point of view of a man who was in a relationship with someone he deeply cared for but treated badly. He admits to making mistakes and causing his partner to cry, leading to her leaving him. Since then, he has been unable to move on and spends his days wondering who might be loving her now. He acknowledges the emptiness he feels without her love and begs for her to return to him.
The song's emotional poignancy is heightened by Smokey Robinson's expressive and powerful lyrics, and the Motown-inspired musical accompaniment give the song a timeless and iconic feel. The song has since been covered by numerous artists, including Michael Jackson, who put his own spin on the song in the Jackson 5's rendition released in 1969.
One interesting fact about "Who's Loving You" is that it was actually the B-side to The Miracles' hit single "Shop Around" in 1960. However, the song has since become more popular and well-known than its A-side counterpart. Additionally, the song was written by Smokey Robinson when he was just a teenager, showcasing his prodigious songwriting abilities.

When I had you
Once, when you were mine
I treated you bad
I mistreated you and caused you pain
And wrong my dear
I did you harm, my beloved
And girl since,
And ever since you left,
Since you been away
Since you've been gone
Dontcha know
Don't you know
I sit around
I spend my time idly
with my head hangin' down
Feeling sad and dejected
And I wonder
And I ask myself
Who's lovin you
Who is now giving you love and affection
I, I, I, I should have never ever
I deeply regret not having
Ever made you cry
Caused you emotional pain
And girl since
And since you left
Since you been gone
Since you have been away
Dontcha know
You should know by now
I sit around
I pass the time
with my head hangin' down
Feeling melancholic
And I wonder
And I ask myself
Who's lovin you
Who is now providing love and care to you
Life without love
A life devoid of affection
Is oh so lonely
Feels terribly lonesome
I dont think
I struggle to believe
I dont think
I cannot imagine
I'm gonna make it
I will be able to survive it
All my life
For as long as I live
All my life, yeah
Throughout my years
belongs to you only
My life is yours alone, and no one else's
Come on and take it girl
I offer it to you, please take it
Because,
For the reason that
All I can do
The only thing that remains for me
Since you been gone is cry
Ever since you left, I just cry
And you, oooh
And you, oh dear
Dontcha know I
Surely you must know that I
Sit around
Spend my days doing nothing
With my head hangin down
Feeling defeated and sad
And I wonder
And I ponder
Who's lovin' you
Who is the one receiving your love now
(Who's lovin you)
(Who is now the recipient of your affection)
Who's lovin you.....
Who is giving you love and devotion right now

in the words of Smokey "I couldn't believe a lil kid could sing that song with so much emotion! It was incredible for me, as a songwriter, to see my song performed so well"
@bryani2449
Yes this is the original and props to it and Smokey's voice is just absolutely amazing, But little Michael Jackson omg he sang it with so much more soul
@beverlyharris9859
Thank you Smokey Bill. SENSATIONAL BEAUTIFUL HEAVENLY AWESOME!!!!
@hdclark09
from what I understand. Smoky said that he thought Michael did a great job, for someone who had never experienced that kind of love...But I am a firm believer that you can look at kids sometimes and see that they have an old soul...I think Michael had such a soul...

Going through a divorce listening to Smokey’s amazing words keep me strong. I cannot wait until my 3 sons grow bigger and I can show them this music and educate them on real music that means something deep in the heart and soul. God bless anyone on here 🙏
