Children of the Sun
The Misunderstood Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Let go lovely children
Close your eyes and drift away
When you wake again tomorrow
You'll be born again to stay
Thus the word of love has spoken

You've joined the children of the Sun
You've joined the children of the Sun

Relax yourselves and drift
Into the regons of your mind
As understanding glows before you
All thats left of you is kind
Thus the word of love has spoken

You've joined the children of the Sun
You've joined the children of the Sun

@Dirigible46 - Hi! Stephen from The Misunderstood here. To answer your question, no, none of us are still in Riverside, CA, and, of course, the band has L-O-N-G since perished except for the memories and a handful of recordings. Greg T. is still in SoCal, RMoe lives (I think) in NoCal, Tony is in the UK, GRC lives in NZ, RB is in Thailand and I live in TN. Thanks for you interest in our band and music. ENJOY!!! :)

I grew up in Riverside CA, then moved in 1980. Riverside has produced many, many excellant musicians. I guess because there wasn't much to do there! I was friends with Glen and Babs and you couldn't find 2 better people. I was sad when they moved to NZ, Glen's woek was sheer genius. It's a shame that they didn't more acclaim because they surely deserved it!

Gone but not forgotten. Psychedelia at it’s finest. Thanks for posting.😎✌🏽☮️🎸

The Misunderstood were America's best answer to the Jeff Beck lineup of the Yardbirds. They even have the classic Yardbird rave up down to a fine art. Kudos to John Peel for arranging for The Misunderstood to travel to England and record and play there. 1966 was a fantastic year for music and culture in general and this killer track exemplifies that.

@5micky2

They sound like a marriage between The Yardbirds and The Who. Great!

@jeddrinnan - Actually, the entire band 'The Misunderstood' was inducted into the IE Hall of Fame. Not to take anything away from Glenn, but we were recognized as a whole for our musical creation/contribution.. Glenn, as well as Greg Treadway, were the two band members present to receive the award, which may account for the 'misunderstanding' (pun intended... :) As always, thanks for your interest ~ Stephen Whiting/Bassist/The Misunderstood

Championed by John Peel but largely ignored. One of the most underrated bands of the sixties who certainly had a massive impact on other musicians of the time.

@Godscoolbiker

This was classic, classic classic. I was there, I heard it on radio over and over. Nothing, nothing came near it at the time. Nobody was making this sound with this depth and confidence. Ace, ace ace. Sans pareil.

@truetothegame2928

sounds dodgy

@mr.magister5531

One of the great long lost bands of the sixties, love this band.
