They recorded a four track privately-pressed EP in 1967, which is now extremely rare. In May 1967, they were spotted by a Decca talent scout and invited to Decca's London studio to record two tracks - "Eastern Music" and "In This World Of Mine" - which the label subsequently decided not to release, although "Eastern Music" later appeared on one of the 'Rubble' LP:s. When Decca lost interest the band split soon after. Harrison, Millidge and Sharpling were briefly in a band called Rupert Bear soon after with guitarist Chris Rose, but it wasn't together long enough to make it onto vinyl.
(B) The Mode are a four-piece indie rock band from Glasgow, Scotland.
Members:
Stevie Dunn (vocals/guitar)
Michael Spence (bass/b.vocals)
Jimmy McNealy (lead guitar/vocals)
Richie McHugh (drummer)
In a short period of time, the band have notched up over 100 gigs in venues, all across the United Kingdom.
The unique sound of The Mode, was first captured in February 2005, when they played their first gig, and have thus built up a large following.
They have also played in some of the most popular venues in Britain, playing at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow, Jabez Clegg in Manchester and the world-famous Cavern Club in Liverpool, well-known for The Beatles making their first ever appearance there in 1961.
The band have also had great reviews, and plenty of airplay on local and national radio stations, most notably XFM Scotland's previous incarnation Beat 106, and their new music presenter Jim Gellatly.
The Mode then released a debut EP called The Line on October 13, 2005. It went on to sell more than 1000 copies, which isn't that bad for a band who had no record label at the time.
Debut single, Russia, was released on May 8, 2006, and again sold quite a few copies.
2007 sees the first UK tour by The Mode, and will see them become bigger than they already are.

Herman's Herrmits on acid ?
A drunken Peter Noone doing the Cossack dance on table tops ?
Good to know they were from the UK. They sound like five comrades from the USSR doing acid for the first time and having a go at psychedelia.
Dig the outfits they had on. Cool garage from Essex
