The Moments - had only one major pop hit with "Love on a Two Way Street" except in the UK where 'Girls', 'Dolly My Love' and 'Jack In The Box' all charted.They had many years of successful singles on the R&B charts. The Moments who are originally from Washington, D.C.with Mark Greene also had an underground hit with "Not on the Outside" which was accepted my local listeners instantly!

Later in the mid-80's, The Moments became Ray, Goodman & Brown, changed labels (Polydor) and garnered a few more hits, most noted the track "Special Lady".

Lead singer Harry Ray died in 1992, and was replaced by Kevin Owens, who sung as one of Luther Vandross' background vocalists. Bass singer Al Goodman died in 2010.

Before he passed away, my uncle was close protection for the royal family. He told me a story once about how he (about 6 foot 7) had to lift and carry Her Majesty in a training exercise. Every time he did, she was making silly jokes like "ooh, I can see my house from here!" and "The air does get a bit thinner, doesn't it?". Always stuck with me. Rest in Peace

Her dialogue with Paddington Bear, in hindsight, sounded like a valedictory speech although I thought would last several more years.
My consolation is that Paddington Bear represented us all in time to convey our deepest and sincere gratitude to her literally for everything before she went aloft to oversee her son for the next decades.

Love her or hate her, there's no denying that she has been a total badass. I am not from UK, but I also feel a big loss. She was the Queen for all of my life, and I don’t remember the world where there was no her. And nobody never said “the queen of Great Britain” but simply “the queen” and everybody knew who they meant. And in spite of her unique world status she was very humble. I love the true story of The Queen's encounter with the intruder who snuck into the palace and into her bedroom in the middle of the night. I remember an incident probably about 40 years ago when the queen had been shooting pheasants and had picked up a wounded bird and like all of us rung its neck . The media had a picture of her doing this and went nuts in the papers . The next day in church the great lady had two very long pheasant tail feathers in her hat.
She was truly one of a kind .

One anecdote not very widely known. The Queen was in Northern Ireland for the Opening of a University during the height of the troubles. It was in Ian Paisleys constituency. After the ceremony, walking down the steps to a presentation line up she noticed the very tall and bulky figure of Ian Paisley standing to greet the Queen. The last person she needed to be photographed with at the time was Ian Paisley. Suddenly, the very boring Vice Chancellor, who was walking down the steps became the centre of her attention and was being given all the very best racing tips as she breezed past Paisley and his outstretched hand totally ignoring him and the other dignitaries in the line up.

And another: During a state visit to Germany, she made a private visit to the schloss of the German side of the family, made after much campaigning by the family. Her Majesty was being shown around the castle and was taken to the cellars to view the wine collection. In the dark and dank and very dimly lit underground vaults, she sniffed and commented "I suppose this is where you tortured the peasants".

I've never been a royalist however I find myself a little weepy eyed at this. She seemed to always do everything right and I don't think there will be another one like her. She kept the British tradition alive and in her death I can recognize and acknowledge her role that she played with conviction throughout her reign. Rest well, your legacy is timeless.

how do you know that? have you seen her anywhere except social media or witnessing their politics and managing system? its always people who keep the traditions alive. so why we simply dont stop to obey and tribute someones rules and always thinking there should be a better man to govern us? why we dont rely on our own thinking and personal analysis and just stop these tributes on this century?

Totally agree! I didn't expect to be as affected by her death as I am and I'm no royalist either but she will always have my respect! And now she's gone it's the end of an era and I don't believe in the monarchy now since her and Philip are gone!

It's interesting that you, and many others, have said that about The Queen, and now are saying that they hadn't realised how warm and caring The King is. Neither the Late Queen nor The King have changed. It's how they always were. It's public perception that has changed.

I'm from the States and I absolutely adored her majesty absolutely not she was an absolute hot ticket one of the things on my bucket list that I'll never be able to complete was actually to meet her you guys in the UK we're so lucky to have her for 70 years who would have thought that a few months after her due release she would no longer be with us. My little 1 always tells me Queen's not dead mama she's just living at Bellmore hole and 1 of the cottages so she could retire Which I thought was adorable. But like I said people didn't realize how funny her majesty actually was and what a sense of humor she had it's a great loss that she's no longer with us and I wish king Charles III the best

I, of course, always knew she would die one day but it still caught me off guard. She almost seemed like a representation of everything British, purely timeless, it’s hard to see her as mortal as the rest of us. May she rest in peace, there won’t be anyone like her for a long time.
