The Monolith Deathcult Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Risen from the seed of Enki
With consent of the God-father Anu
We are the working race
Created in the temples of SCH.RUPPAK

The Masters ride the midnight sky
In their lucent chariots of thunder
Those who behold the radiant face of the Gods
Died eyeless, scorched and ablaze

And God-slaves we are
Suffering in the mines of our Masters
We populate the fields of E.DIN
The base of the Gods from Nibiru-Phaëton

The days of Sodom are counted
Destroyers come down from the Phaëton realm
To devour the mutinous creatures of Enki
Unwilling to bow for the God-father Anu

The Lord was the blessed name they carried
Composed from the leeches of the Kosmos

The Gods must be slain
So mankind will be blessed with their wisdom
In the darkest depths of AB.ZU
With the vulpine Snake on our side
Ruler of the underworld of E.DIN
We conspire against our Masters

After the dismantling of the alien Gods
We become divine

Overall Meaning

The Monolith Deathcult's song "Origin" is full of dark and intriguing imagery as it explores the story of human creation according to Sumerian mythology. The first stanza speaks of humanity being created by Enki, a god known for his wisdom and magic, with the permission of Anu, the god who is considered the father of the gods. The "working race" is said to have been created in the temples of SCH.RUPPAK, a place associated with sacred knowledge and mystical power.

The second stanza describes the arrival of the "Masters," who ride through the sky in chariots of thunder, radiating a blinding light that causes anyone who looks at them to die. The humans are referred to as "God-slaves," who toil in the mines and fields of the gods, who are said to hail from the planet Nibiru-Phaëton.

The third stanza hints at a rebellion against the gods, with the arrival of "Destroyers" from the Phaëton realm who will devour the "mutinous creatures of Enki." The humans conspire against their masters with the help of the vulpine Snake, the ruler of the underworld of E.DIN. The final lines express a desire for the gods to be slain so that humanity can be blessed with their wisdom, and that they can become divine themselves.
