Still Falling
The Morning After Girls Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Telephone everyone in the place
Taking off all that ever remains of you now
There it is in the one that you know
Any face that he lost in between the new low
You're all eyes
All that she is holding, is nothing
Fall, then you keep falling
Until you learn to lose
On the bed that was already made
He was all that would ever be left of you now
Didn't think you would know what to say
In a time that he's taking it all away from you now
All that she's holding, is nothing
Fall, then you keep falling
Until you...
Fall, then you keep falling
Until you learn to lose
Fall, not far
When you fall, you fall
Fall, not far
When you fall, you fall
Fall, not far
When you fall, you fall
You fall, you fall, you fall

All that she's holding, is nothing
Fall, then you keep falling

Overall Meaning

The Morning After Girls' song "still falling" seems to be about loss and the process of moving on. The lyrics paint a picture of someone who has lost everything except for the memories and emotions they continue to hold onto. They seem to be searching for a way to let go and move on, but they haven't quite found it yet. The line "fall, then you keep falling until you learn to lose" suggests that the only way to move forward is to accept the loss and learn to let go.

The lyrics are open to interpretation, but they seem to be about a relationship that has ended. The singer is struggling to come to terms with the fact that the person they loved is gone, and they can't seem to find a way to fill the void left behind. The line "he was all that would ever be left of you now" suggests that the singer has lost more than just a romantic partner - they've lost a part of themselves.

The chorus, which repeats the phrase "fall, then you keep falling until you learn to lose," seems to be a message of hope. The singer is encouraging themselves to keep moving forward, even if it feels like they're falling. By accepting the loss and learning to let go, they can eventually find peace and move on.

This movie really helps me when I'm feeling lost. Genuinely therapeutic.

My #1 movie of all times considering the warmth in human relationships that it radiates. Went to Japan because of it and fallen in love with the country&people. Going again pretty soon.

Excellent use of this "dreamy" song in this clip - thank you!

BTW, I do not know how the process of song selection has been done for this movie -but it's nothing less than perfect - one of the most touching soundtracks I have ever heard.

I find myself drawn to this film and soundtrack for reasons I don’t ever want to understand. I just want to immerse myself in the heaviness of the moment.

This song makes me so emotional for some reason. I love it to bits!!! You found the perfect match there could be for me between a film and a song. Congrats!

while on vacation in the Philippines in 2007 I had just broken up with my fiance and she asked me when I went there to pick up the engagement ring(she's filipina) as I went to the nearby 7/11 I met this cutie(girlie is her name, no kidding lol) as we continue to mingle I asked her out and she accepted admitting that she was very attracted to me. and I told her I felt the same way I was 40 back then she was 22 at the time. the age didn't bother her or me. the fact that she was engaged to an American and she was on the final stages of her K1VISA that kinda put a damper on the situation. she told me she'll drop him in a heartbeat for me but I wasn't sure if I was on the rebound or not. nevertheless she gave me a ride to Pampanga from manila to pick up the ring and the next day she gave me a ride to the airport. she gave me her cellphone number and hugged and kissed me. as I went inside the airport I saw her drive off. it was then that I tore up the paper where she wrote her number and I went inside never to see her again.. when I saw the ending of this movie it brought back some bittersweet memories...

I put this song on my playlist and listened to it on repeat while walking in Tokyo back in 2017, right in the cherry blossom season. The best travel of my life!
