Zappa disbanded the original Mothers of Invention line-up in 1970 to create music under his own name, but shortly reformed an entirely new band sometimes known as "The Mothers". This new incarnation had a strong vaudeville style and were much bawdier than before, with new vocalists Flo & Eddie, previously of the Turtles, taking the lead. After Zappa was pushed offstage in the Rainbow Theatre in 1971, he broke up this second band and concentrated on a jazzier style with a short-lived big band called the Grand Wazoo, but returned with a third lineup of the Mothers in 1973. This reformed group retained musical similarities to the previous group and the chamber music of the late '60s Mothers, but with a tighter, funkier sound; George Duke's soulful vocals being perhaps the most memorable addition. Whilst members of the new Mothers frequently appeared on albums credited solely to Zappa, three albums, Overnite Sensation, Roxy & Elsewhere and One Size Fits All display the name Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention.

For your love, my heart cries
Take my heart, my love my everything
For so long I've needed your love
Oh, when, when you first came to me
I-I-I-I-I doubted your love
But now you mean everything to me
And each day I love you more
For you, I could do anything
For your love, my heart cries
Take my heart
(Take my heart)
My love, my everything
(Take my love)
For so long
(Take my heart)
I've needed you
(Take my love)
Take my heart
Take my love
Take my heart
Take my love
Take . . .
The Mothers of Invention's song "Anything" is a love song that expresses the depths that one would go for the person they love. The opening lines, "For you, I could do anything, for your love, my heart cries" set the tone for the rest of the song as the singer expresses their devotion to their loved one. The singer goes on to say that the person they love means everything to them and that they love them more every day.
The repeated phrase, "Take my heart, my love, my everything," emphasizes the idea that the singer is willing to give their all to the person they love. The lyrics also touch on the theme of doubt and uncertainty in love, as the singer admits to doubting their love in the past but now recognizes the importance and depth of their feelings.
Overall, the song portrays a powerful and all-consuming love that the singer is willing to do anything for, even if it means giving up everything they have.
