Al Lewis, and Fred's laugh........EPIC!
Fred's rubber face like over the top expressions, like watching all of Jim Carrey's performances years later.
So many childhood memories watching this on my families 24" black n white Zenith stereo "High Fidelity" combo system.
Stereo Combo meant it was a tv and a record player with two speakers. A huge piece of furniture in the corner of the living room 1966.
Grandpa unveils the human Herman........
Marilyn: "Oh.........oh.......oh my............how are we related now?"
Al and Fred were together in another early 60's comedy called "Car 54 Where Are You."
I almost forgot about this episode......what a gem. Like breaking the fourth wall.
Another episode, Eddie meets his creature feature TV idol and turns out to be a human in makeup.
Laurie Smith
My mom had a children's book that Fred wrote after his time on . She lost it in a move as a child; I found a copy of the book at a book sale four years ago and bought it for $0.50. I gave it to her for her birthday, and she burst into tears, asking me where I got it. I told her I'd found it at the book sale I was at and how much it cost and she was stunned. Come to find out, she'd written her name on the first page when she was a child, and what had made her cry was that when she opened the book, and looked at the first page, it was her signature staring back at her.

Coincidence? Or something greater than that?

Great Laurie....now we are ALL crying! ;)
Mario Cisneros
I'd cry too and that's hard for a man

😱 now THAT'S a reunion!
Rebmetpes4
@Mario Cisneros yep!
The Evil Ascot Company
Considering the time period this was made, they really did a fantastic makeup job making Herman look like a normal human in this episode. No CGI or anything, practical effects are always the best, I say.
Gold Prime
The makeup artist truly is a genius
Mr T
@Gold Prime yes she won an Emmy.
Bobbie White
Yep... real movie magic
