I agree with Claudia, it's one of my favorites because it is a simple song about a simple girl, who loved him but was taken by him. It's her love message "Tell him Angela and I don't want the two dollars back - just him!" I was a product of the 60s and loved HAIR it was uplifting and educational...I wanted to be a hippy and shed my conservatism, I applauded the freedom of the play and the innocence of a girl and her friend Angela! The melody is indeed charming and sweet and tells a story! Frank Mills

I met a boy called Frank Mills
On September twelfth right here
In front of the Waverly
But unfortunately I lost his address
He was last seen with his friend, a drummer
He resembles George Harrison of The Beatles
But he wears his hair tied in a small bow at the back
I love him but it embarrasses me
To walk down the street with him
He lives in Brooklyn somewhere
And he wears his white crash helmet
He has golden chains on his leather jacket
And on the back are written the names
"Mary" and "Mom" and "Hell's Angels"
I would gratefully appreciate if you see him tell him
I'm in the park with my girlfriend and please
Tell him Angela and I don't want the two dollars back just him
Songwriters: Galt Mac Dermot / Gerome Ragni / James Rado
And I was a Brooklyn Boy.
I saw this live in Central Park, Off-Broadway and many times on Broadway. And got to dance on several times with the cast on stage including in Central Park!

"Maria" e "Mamma" e "Angeli dell'inferno"

Claudia Krizay

@Siple Mortel I hear myself, GRAMPS!!  I laugh also!  I have higher self-esteem- you have delusions of grandeur. You think you are perfect- but you are not.

Claudia Krizay

@Siple Mortel you need a good kick in the pants however your butt is probably so big you wouldn't notice it.Bigger than your brain, certainly but alas nothing has to be all that big to be bigger than your warped brain and ego. You wrote a negative comment after a positive remark I made about someone's song! Either you are determined to insult whatever I say or your English is so bad you misinterpreted my comment! I would say go back to whatever country you come from- if the people there can stand having you back and around!!!!!

Siple Mortel

but i think your case isnt that simple...

you  need a slap tp  wake up immediately

The Lemonheads (Evan Dando) recorded a superb acoustic version of this.
