The lyrics in this song tell the story of a person who feels betrayed by someone they once loved. The first verse describes how the person thought they saw this man who they adored come back to life, and how he taught them how to cry. However, they then realize that the man isn't who they thought he was, and doesn't seem to know or care what his heart is for. They feel like they don't know him anymore and that there's nothing left of him. The chorus expresses the person's feelings of being torn, out of faith, and feeling cold and shamed. They feel like they're lying naked on the floor and that the illusion of their relationship never changed into something real.
The second verse continues the story of betrayal by reflecting on how the person should have seen what was there instead of just some holy light. The person feels like the man crawled beneath their veins, and now they don't care about their luck or missing him. There are just so many things they can't touch or have, and they feel torn. The chorus repeats with the perfect sky being torn and the person feeling like they're broken on the floor.
Overall, this song portrays the pain and confusion of a failed relationship, where someone felt like they were betrayed by someone they truly loved.
