The Odds Lyrics

Move on it right now
The world is sailing
You must turn and face the bow
The sting of loss is stinging
Voice drowned by the wind
La verite, le courage
Sitting on a fencepost
For the last three years
Safe but sore, sound but scored
Plugging up my ears
Which door holds back the tiger?
Which string will let go the flood?
Standing still, won't move a muscle
The heat is turning up
La verite, le courage
(Truth or dare)
La verite, le courage
(Truth or dare)
La verite, le courage
(Truth or dare)
La verite, le courage
(Truth or dare)
The stick is in the spokes
So the machine is sure to break
Who's to be sure the fall won't cure
The fear of something great?
Something great
La verite, le courage
(Truth or dare)
La verite, le courage
(Truth or dare)
La verite, le courage
(Truth or dare)
La verite, le courage
(Truth, truth, truth, truth, truth or dare)
La verite, le courage
(Truth, truth or dare)
La verite, le courage
La verite, le courage
(Truth, truth, truth, truth or dare)
La verite, le courage
(Truth or dare)
The lyrics of "Truth Or Dare" by The Odds convey a message of facing the realities of life and taking the necessary steps to move forward. The opening lines of "Accept it, live with it, move on it right now" urge the listener to accept the present situation and not dwell on it, but take action to change it. The line "The world is sailing, you must turn and face the bow" emphasizes the need to confront life head-on to navigate in the right direction.
The lyrics also touch on the fear of making decisions and taking risks. The line "Sitting on a fencepost for the last three years" depicts the indecisiveness of the person being addressed. They are safe but not progressing and their ears are plugged as if they don't want to hear the truth. The repetition of "truth or dare" suggests that the person needs to make a choice, either confront reality or continue with their current situation.
The song's chorus of "La verite, le courage" is French for "The truth, the courage." The phrase emphasizes the need for courage to confront the truth, take risks and make decisions. The bridge's line "The stick is in the spokes so the machine is sure to break" means that holding onto fear prevents growth, and it's essential to take the risk and move on.
Overall, the lyrics of "Truth Or Dare" urge listeners to stop being complacent in their lives, take risks, and face the realities and truths that are holding them back.
