Along with fellow California punk bands Green Day and Rancid, The Offspring have been credited with reviving mainstream interest in punk rock in the United States during the mid-1990s. To date, The Offspring has released eight studio albums, one compilation, four EPs and three DVDs. They have sold over 34 million albums worldwide, making them one of the best-selling punk rock acts of all time. Each album since the release of their 1994 album Smash has sold over a million units.
Since the release of Smash, which is the best-selling independent label album of all time, The Offspring has achieved commercial success over five albums, with singles such as "Come Out and Play", and "Self Esteem". The band’s next three albums, Ixnay on the Hombre, Americana and Conspiracy of One, were also successful, with Ixnay on the Hombre and Conspiracy of One reaching platinum certification, and Americana achieving multi-platinum status. Longtime drummer Ron Welty left The Offspring in early 2003, and was replaced by Atom Willard. Later that year, the band released their next album, Splinter, to moderate sales and fairly warm reviews. In 2005, The Offspring released a greatest hits album and toured in support of the compilation. Their eighth studio album, Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace, was released on June 17, 2008 with the hit singles "You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid" and "Hammerhead."
Days Go By is the band’s ninth studio album and is due to be released on June 26, 2012. The Days Go By Songfacts reports that the title track was released as the first single and was premiered on KROQ on April 27, 2012.
2. Offspring was a short-lived English pop duo of the early 1970s, consisting of Mike Brayn and John Howard, who met at Hurstpierpoint College in Sussex, United Kingdom. They released just one single, 'Windfall' (1972). Their planned studio album was never completed.

With nothing at all?
Where do you run?
Where do you go?
When the holes in your truth
Are starting to show?
And the world is on my head
Crave the sun
But I can't get out of bed
How can you take?
Without giving back?
How does it work?
When it's really cracked?
How does it feel...
And no wonder
Hearts and minds have
been won
How does it feel...
And I wonder
How it's all come undone
And the rain comes
And the world is on my head
Crave the sun
But I can't get out of bed
Want it you got it you're sorry
You bought it you're sliding
Want it you got it you're sorry
You bought it can't hide it
Tell me who do you see
Cause you look a lot like me
How can you take?
Without giving back?
Who do you see
Cause you look a lot like me
Want it you got it you're sorry
You bought it you're sliding
Want it you got it you're sorry
You bought it can't hide it
Want it you got it you're sorry
You bought it you're sliding
Want it you got it you're sorry
You bought it can't hide it
And the rain comes
And the world is on my head
Crave the sun
But I can't get out of bed
Want it you got it you're sorry
You bought it you're sliding
Want it you got it you're sorry
You bought it can't hide it
Tell me who do you see
Cause you look a lot like me
You look a lot like me
You look a lot you look a lot like me, whoah
You look a lot like me, whoah
You look a lot like me, whoah
You look a lot like me, whoah
You look a lot like me, whoah
"A Lot Like Me" is a song by The Offspring, an American rock band, from their 2012 album Days Go By. The song's lyrics touch on issues of individuality, self-reflection, and societal conformity. The singer questions how people live without anything to hold onto, how they run away or hide when the truth shows conflicts and cracks, and how they take without giving back. The song's chorus asks the listener to "tell me who do you see cause you look a lot like me," implying that many people are living without purpose, feeling lost and disconnected, unsure of who they really are.
The rain is a symbol of sadness and depression that's hard to escape from. Even though people crave the sun, they find it impossible to get out of bed and face the day. The song implies that people have lost touch with their true selves and are trying to find a way back to a more authentic existence. The phrase "you look a lot like me" suggests that the singer has come to terms with their own identity struggles and is confronting the listener with the same questions.
Overall, "A Lot Like Me" is a powerful song about introspection and identifying one’s own uniqueness in a world that tells us we are all the same. The Offspring encourage the listener to explore their own inner selves and find a purpose that feels genuine and true.
