Along with fellow California punk bands Green Day and Rancid, The Offspring have been credited with reviving mainstream interest in punk rock in the United States during the mid-1990s. To date, The Offspring has released eight studio albums, one compilation, four EPs and three DVDs. They have sold over 34 million albums worldwide, making them one of the best-selling punk rock acts of all time. Each album since the release of their 1994 album Smash has sold over a million units.
Since the release of Smash, which is the best-selling independent label album of all time, The Offspring has achieved commercial success over five albums, with singles such as "Come Out and Play", and "Self Esteem". The band’s next three albums, Ixnay on the Hombre, Americana and Conspiracy of One, were also successful, with Ixnay on the Hombre and Conspiracy of One reaching platinum certification, and Americana achieving multi-platinum status. Longtime drummer Ron Welty left The Offspring in early 2003, and was replaced by Atom Willard. Later that year, the band released their next album, Splinter, to moderate sales and fairly warm reviews. In 2005, The Offspring released a greatest hits album and toured in support of the compilation. Their eighth studio album, Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace, was released on June 17, 2008 with the hit singles "You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid" and "Hammerhead."
Days Go By is the band’s ninth studio album and is due to be released on June 26, 2012. The Days Go By Songfacts reports that the title track was released as the first single and was premiered on KROQ on April 27, 2012.
2. Offspring was a short-lived English pop duo of the early 1970s, consisting of Mike Brayn and John Howard, who met at Hurstpierpoint College in Sussex, United Kingdom. They released just one single, 'Windfall' (1972). Their planned studio album was never completed.

Don't blow the same
She had to get out
And make a change
She had a kid now
But much too young
That baby's daddy's
Out having fun
He's sayin' I'm on a roll
With all the girls I know
His baby mama
She ain't so slow
He's sayin' I'm on a roll
With all the girls I know
I know you want to hit that
I know you want to hit that, hit that
All the world is getting with I say
Consequences are a lot, but hey
That's the way it
That's the way things go, hey hey hey
What was a family
Is now a shell
We're raising kids now
Who raise themselves
Sex is a weapon
It's like a drug
It gets him right into
That grave that he just dug
She's sayin' I'm on a run
I'm chasing guys for fun
My baby's daddy
It ain't his only one
She's sayin' I'm on a run
I'm chasing guys for fun
I know you want to hit that
I know you want to hit that, hit that
Everybody's getting with I say
Consequences are a lot, but hey
That's the way it
That's the way things go, hey hey hey
Well it winds up
Broken up, really such a shame
But why not?
Take a chance, everything's a game
And it don't stop
Hooking up, nothing's gonna change
Well, the more he's tryin'
The more he's buyin'
He says I'm on a roll
With all the girls I know
His baby's mama
Don't need to know
He's sayin' I'm on a roll
With all the girls I know
I know you want to hit that
I know you want to hit that, hit that
All of the world is getting with I say
Consequences are a lot, but hey
That's the way it
That's the way things go
The Offspring's Hit That tells the story of a young mother who is tired of her irresponsible and unfaithful baby daddy, who cheats on her with multiple women. The woman decides to leave the unhealthy relationship and pursue her own happiness. Meanwhile, the irresponsible baby daddy continues to indulge in his sexual promiscuity, not caring about the damage he is causing to his family. This song tackles issues surrounding sex, relationships, and consequences.
The lyrics suggest how sex is being used as a weapon and can lead to devastating outcomes. The baby mama's ex-partner is portrayed as a man only interested in achieving physical pleasures without considering the impact of his actions on his family. The woman, on the other hand, is trying to break free from the cycle of pain and misery. However, the overall message of the song is not to judge others but rather to highlight the consequences of one's actions. The lyrics of Hit That remind us that our actions, particularly when it comes to sex and relationships, have lasting effects, and we should be mindful of the consequences.
