Who's gonna take you out tonight to listen to the band?
Who'll be the one you love to love, who's gonna be your beau?
Who's gonna show you out tonight, and take you to the show?
It'll be me, babe, it'll be me.
Comin' for thee, babe, comin' for thee.
Is there any doubt just who I'm talkin' about?
Who's gonna meet you in the morn, and court you through the day?
Who's gonna pick you up at eight to rock the night away?
It'll be me, babe, it'll be me.
Comin' for thee, babe, comin' for thee.
Is there any doubt just who I'm talkin' about?
It'll be me, babe, it'll be me.
It'll be me, babe, it'll be me.
Comin' for thee, babe, comin' for thee.
Is there any doubt just who I'm talkin' about?
It'll be me, babe, it'll be me.
The lyrics to The Osmonds's song "It'll be me" speak directly to a woman, asking her who will be the one to take care of her needs and desires. The first verse asks who will "shoe [her] pretty feet" and "hold [her] hand," indicating a desire to care for her physically and emotionally. The next two lines express a desire to take her out and listen to music together, suggesting a desire for romance and companionship. The second verse continues with similar themes, asking who will meet her in the morning and court her throughout the day, and who will pick her up and take her out at night.
Throughout the song, the singer is confident that he will be the one to fulfill all of these needs and desires. He repeats the refrain "It'll be me, babe, comin' for thee, babe" multiple times, highlighting his determination to be the one to care for her. He also asks rhetorically if there is "any doubt" about who he is talking about, suggesting that his feelings for her are clear and strong.
Overall, "It'll be me" is a romantic and confident love song that expresses a desire to care for and cherish another person. The lyrics address both physical and emotional needs, and the repeated refrain emphasizes the singer's commitment to being the one to fulfill them.
