You can't stray far away
Don't let temptation steal your heart
Love's not a game to play
You think that you can have it all
But baby, that's not true
You'll wake up with the heartache
When it comes to love
You can't think with your eyes
You can't think with your lips or hands
You can't think with your mind
When it comes to love
You leave the world behind
You can't be worried about what others say
No, you can't think with your mind
Think with your heart
Think with your heart, sweet darling
Think with your heart
Think with your heart, sweet baby
Thinking with your eyes
Gets you into trouble every time
You'll never satisfy your appetite
You think that you'll be happy
If you leave my love behind
But it won't be long
Before you change your mind
When it comes to love
You can't think with your eyes
You can't think with your lips and hands
You can't think with your mind
When it comes to love
You leave the world behind
You can't be worried about what others say
No, you can't think with your eyes
You think with your heart
Think with your heart, sweet darling
You think with your heart
Think with your heart, sweet baby
Pain has no memory
The pleasure you can't forget
Once it gets inside your mind
Temptation takes control
And steals your heart and soul
Once you're thinking with your eyes
Think with your heart
Think with your heart, sweet darling
Think with your heart
Think with your heart, sweet baby
Think with your heart
Think with your heart, sweet darling
Think with your heart
Think with your heart, sweet baby
The Osmonds's song "Think" is a cautionary tale about love and the dangers of temptation. The lyrics advise against straying from love and allowing temptation to steal your heart. Love is not a game to play, and thinking with your eyes, lips, hands, or mind can only lead to disappointment and heartache. The song emphasizes the importance of thinking with your heart when it comes to love, leaving the world behind and not worrying about what others say.

Funny how you can not hear a song for 40+ years, then hear it again and remember it just like it was yesterday. <3

Truly one of their forgotten treasures. I wore it out back in the day!

I've loved this song since I got the debut alum when it was released Very poignant now, in June of 2020, the year of Covid-19 and racial injustice on the streets. Great job with the lyrics too because most lyric pages obviously can't hear "Sorrow can't touch ya.." (which is correct!) They list "Sorry can't touch ya...". Which ia a major reason why this song is so great. The lyrics, sadly, are timeless! The combination of the great band and Merrill's SO underated lead vocals...it's in my top 50 songs off all time.

I just digitized my vinyl copy of the Osmonds '71 album and apparently thought the same as you - "is there even a video for this song?" Thank you for posting the lyrics, because the 10-year-old me made up his own and they naturally made less sense than the real version!!
"Is perpetual freedom, is it just a word?..." (you get the idea)

Ezra, can't tell you how finding this has made my day. Saw them perform live in Cincinnati back in '70 or '71 and always thought this was one of their best albums. I, too, still have the vinyl and your recording is excellent. Since David Cassidy passed, have been revisiting my "youth", listening to how wholesome the tunes were of my teens.
