Sorry I took so long, I hope I'm not too late. Record yourselves if you play!
Here are the lyrics:

"You're playing with fire and you're asking for trouble my friend
The girl you admire, she'll make a fool out of you in the end
You're gonna get your fingers burned, she won't be very much concerned

Beware, take care, you're playing with fire
You burn, you learn, you're playing with fire

You're wasting your time she is a run-around little town flirt
She used to be mine, can't you see by the way I've been hurt
At first she'll set your soul on fire, that's when you'll find you're playing with fire

Beware, take care, you're playing with fire
You burn, you learn, you're playing with fire

You're gonna get your fingers burned, she won't be very much concerned

Beware, take care, you're playing with fire
You burn, you learn, you're playing with fire

You're playing with fire"

Bob Crewe produced the flip side " Over My Head"

The Male (or The U. S. MALE) was released on and produced by the QUINVY organization.

Saw these guys in 67 or 68 featured at the State finals (or Triangle Region) NC Battle of the Bands. Recall their clean cut "mod" appearance. Use to have the promotional program with Pics of all the performing acts.  Later that year Quinvy released "Over My Head" b/w this track. "Over My Head" received sparse but very present air play and I bought a copy

Devon Tuttle

Whoa, so they were an NC/Triangle band?

@Jesse Martin Mine's too scratchy
