The band is best known for their high-energy rockabilly sound, but a sound their own, built on country, early rock & roll, blues and jazz. This distinctive sound has earned them shared billing with the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Los Lobos, X, The Blasters and The Fabulous Thunderbirds. The Paladins are: Dave Gonzalez-guitar & vocals, Thomas Yearsley-upright and electric bass, Jeff Donovan/Brian Fahey-drums.

Saw these guys many times at the Palamino in North Hollywood back in the day. Sooo good and yes they are very underrated. Brings back so many good memories as a teenager in the late 80's early 90's.

I have LOVED the Paladins since seeing them Live at the World Expo in Vancouver B.C. Canada in 1986, yeah of this dates me ! I got the pleasure of seeing them live every night they played at the '86 Expo, INDULINDING several solo person to hear them. ME a blues neo-fite at 16 now more than 4 decades of Blues Lovin' I am very happy to see that the PALADINS are still cutting killer BLUES à la Texas.

saw them in Maastricht in the late 80's, still got good memories from that concert....and I think we only paid 10 guilders (about $3 lol)

@0coincidences Yes i also like some of SRV songs in fact i have a DVD at the Montreaux jazz fest when he was starting out.. I was reading the Paladins bio and it said that they toured with SRV and that he was a fan of the Paladins. thank you for responding to my comment.

@SDsailor7 they did and so did the stray cats for a bit... one of my friends uncles seen them once on tour and said that setzer and the cats outdid SRV to a point that SRV came on stage applauding them. hehe. he sounded like a kewl guy tho, i must say, stevie.

@SDsailor7 they were recognized as the hardest workin touring band out there. david is also seen as one of the best guitarists out there... they're underated as far as the medias goes but to the people who care, they are looked upon highly.

hehehe... well hey, practice makes perfect. i know i know... it's over said but still as true today as the first time it was said. on another note... can i assume that your name rebob would be a mixture of reboot and bob, the main character of the show... used to love that show and it's the first thing that came to mind.

They were under-rated ... nah .. put that stuff on Grandma's roses. They were majorly rated. All-heart people's band with every ounce of passion ...beautiful Paladins.

@Don59Sebastian id say that dave is even more versatile than SRV... plays a lot of surf and country stuff as well as his usual blues, rockabilly and jazz. even a bit of mariachi\flamenco styled music. i seriously love this guy! haha =) check out his latest band...hacienda brothers.

@SDsailor7 only other guitarist ive seen have so much edge and that can play sloppy but make it sound good, i would say was SRV and im not a fan of SRV... but man do i love David. wouldnt say SRV's music aint good but theres just a handfull of his songs i really do like. no prob for the response dude, always like to put some info out there. :)
