Ever since Derek (Drums n’ the kitchen sink), Josh (bass n’ thangs), and Ben (keys bells n’ whistles) first got together in the bathroom-sized practice room in San Francisco in 2002, they have shared an infectious drive to making music that feels good and a calling to bring that music to the masses. This force has allowed The Park to emerge as one of the most sought after rhythm sections in the bay and beyond. As emcees, horn players, and vocalist came through the old space on Wednesdays to get down, the concept of “The Park” was born.
The Park eventually outgrew the old digs and moved to a small but mighty club called The Royale is now home to the group’s legendary “Wednesday Night Sessions.,” a hiphop/jazz/soul/everything jam session in downtown San Francisco. Through the years the sessions have been host to countless musicians, emcees/poets, and vocalists from all musical backgrounds and genres.

The Park has earned the reputation as one of the hardest working bands out of the bay. When they are not recording, performing, touring or playing dice with artists from around the world, they continue to foster the music scene at home with “The Park Presents” show. Now see what I want to know is 1. How long do these builds stay standing before erosion makes it too dangerous? 2. Once you finish them do you stay in them, do you rent them out until they're deemed unsafe, or do you just leave them be and wait for nature to take it down? And 3. Lastly how long did it take you just messing around in the dirt and in the sand and mixing different things before you finally had the techniques and know how to actually build something like that out of dirt and materials literally harvested at the build site
