Even the clouds cry in sorrow
It's true
Today let me down
But I know that the sun will shine
Red and bright yellow hues are showing
I'm just a fellow used to knowing
Today let me down
But I know that the sun will shine, shine
Ba ba da da da da de da
Ba da da da da, da da
Ba ba da da da da de da
Ba da da da da, da da
Softly the light fills the grey skies
Window of life, is the sunrise
It's true
Today let me down
But I know that the sun will shine, shine
Ba ba da da da da de da
Ba da da da da, da da
Ba ba da da da da de da
Ba da da da da, da da
Ba ba da da da da de da
Ba da da da da, da da
Ba ba da da da da de da
Ba da da da da, da da
The Peppermint Trolley Company's song "Sunrise" is a reflection of hope and resilience. The opening line "I'll watch the sunrise tomorrow" is a message of determination and optimism. The songwriter understands that there are inevitable setbacks in life, as shown in the line "Even the clouds cry in sorrow, it's true. Today let me down." However, the singer remains hopeful as they believe that tomorrow is a new day and the sun will shine brightly once again. There is a sense of relief and comfort in the idea that the sun rises every day, and with it comes new opportunities and a chance for a fresh start.
The song's chorus emphasizes the idea of hope and resilience. The repetitive phrase "But I know that the sun will shine, shine" reinforces the theme of optimism and a steadfast belief that things will eventually work out. The use of "Ba ba da da da da de da," a nonsensical yet catchy melody, forms a sort of mantra-style chorus that is easy to remember.
The song's verses provide a vivid description of the sunrise. The line "Softly the light fills the grey skies" creates a picture of a world being transformed from darkness to light. The window of life referenced in the lyric "Window of life, is the sunrise" is reminiscent of the idea that each day is a new start and a new opportunity for growth.
Overall, "Sunrise" is a comforting and uplifting song that reminds us that no matter how difficult things may seem, there is always hope for a better tomorrow.
