Following a double A-side release in 2009, that gained the band its first praise from national and online media, they were picked up by the local independent label, Speechless to record an album in March with Pete Miles (King Blues, Failsafe, Your Demise). He captured their sound live, showcasing the technicality in the arrangements of a band that has become water-tight through intense practise and years of musical understanding between the members. They take influence from a variety of artists – most notably Deftones, Thrice, Biffy Clyro and Oceansize, distilling and breaking that down into something that’s both honest and all-encompassing on impact, but with intricacy enough to reward further listens.
From the swarm-of-bees guitar sound that engulfs the furious “Hailstones” to the melodic bliss of “Indigo”, the band rarely let up the pace or invention. Progressive throughout, the band are hard to pigeonhole – the intense riffage of Deliver Me Your Sins brings to mind the likes of Mastodon and Gojira. Other highlights include the math-rock rhythms of A Priest & A Proposition and the blistered, anthemic melodies behind their most accessible track yet, the majestic Quietly Confident.
Belying their age, “Everything Else Can Wait” is a mature and powerful statement of intent across ten tracks. Almost certainly, it is only the very beginning.

The Perfect Crime Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You could not ever say....
How you made me feel....
That I could trust your smile....
You sat there with your eyes you froze me still....
Encased in all you are....
I wondered how we got to this again....
Give me strength....
....
Why can’t we save this?....
Why can’t we save this for our sake?....
The lyrics in The Perfect Crime's song Harlequin convey the feelings of confusion and betrayal that come when someone you trusted suddenly disappears without a word. The opening lines ("I knew you would run away / You could not ever say") suggest that the singer had a premonition that their relationship was doomed, but their partner was unable or unwilling to communicate the reasons why. The lines "You sat there with your eyes, you froze me still / Encased in all you are" describe the singer's helplessness in the face of their partner's inscrutable behavior: their eyes seem to hold all of the answers, but they're unwilling to share them.
The chorus of the song ("Why can't we save this? / Why can't we save this for our sake?") suggests that the singer is still holding out hope for reconciliation, even though they're hurt and confused. They seem to be asking their partner why they can't work together to salvage the relationship, for the sake of both of them. The final lines ("I wondered how we got to this again / Give me strength") convey a sense of weariness and resignation: this isn't the first time they've been through this, and the singer is looking for the strength to endure it once more.
