They've had several songs appear in episodes of some popular American television programs: Grey's Anatomy, The OC, Veronica Mars, One Tree Hill, 16 and Pregnant, and Greek. Their song Sway also plays on the "College rock" station in the Sims 2. Also of note is the fact that Sarah Isaksson (Klüft's former vocal teacher) is a featured artist on their song Pills.
Since 2011, Ola Klüft has been performing solo under the name A Lanky Swede. Thomas Hedlund has been seen playing drums for Phoenix during their North American Tour.

Weekends
The Perishers Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
But I'm sitting next to you
Every morning
On the bus or on the tube
You look tired
Would it help to hear me say
Don't you worry
On the weekends
We try to get our share
Of excitement and of fresh air
Trying to forget
Who we're gonna be
When the alarm rings
On monday morning
If in the evening
All you do is watch TV
'Cause your too tired for anything else
You're just like me
Just remember
As you struggle through the day
Relief awaits you
Friday's not that far away
The Perishers song Weekends is a beautiful depiction of modern instability in one's life. The first two lines of the song, "You don't know me, But I'm sitting next to you" creates an anonymous yet personal mode of communication that sets the stage for the rest of the song. The lyrics are about two coworkers or strangers commuting on public transport. The singer notices how tired the person sitting next to them looks and as a result, offers them words of encouragement, to make it to the weekend. The lyrics are relatable to a lot of people who spend their weekdays working hard and looking forward to the weekend as a way of escape from the mundanity of everyday life.
The chorus of the song is where the emphasis on the theme of the song is most pronounced. "On the weekends, We try to get our share, Of excitement and fresh air, Trying to forget, Who we're gonna be When the alarm rings, On Monday Morning". It highlights the importance of weekends as a time to unwind and forget the troubles and worries that come with the responsibilities of daily life. The lyrics accurately capture the emotions of people who dread Monday mornings, having to go back to work, and wish the weekend would extend a little bit longer.
Overall, The Perishers created an accurate reflection of the emotions and thoughts of everyday people who work hard and long for the weekend. The lyrics are simple yet effective and have the power to create an emotional response in the listener. The song is a musical version of a Friday afternoon, a reminder of the upcoming weekend on the horizon.

on Trouble Sleeping
I’m having trouble sleeping
You’re jumping in my bed
Twisting in my head
Leave me
I’m having trouble breathing
You’re sitting on my chest
I sure could use the rest
Leave me
It’s you
君さ
Why’s it always you
and never me?
I’ve never dared to let
my feelings free
Why’s it always you
and never me?
I’ve never cared
too much about honesty
I’m having trouble sleeping
I’m thinking of what you said
About the tears been shed
Leave me
It’s you
それは君
Now and always you
but never me
I’ve never dared to
let my feelings free
Why’s it always you
and never me?
I’ve never cared
too much about honesty
