Love Me
The Phantom Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Aahh, uhh, let's go!
Press your lips to mine
And whisper I love you
Gotta have chance that lasts
To do the things we wanna do
Don't hesitate, I can't wait, love me
You set my soul on fire
Every muscle in my body's burning with desire
Baby kiss me do
Make me know you're mine
Love me with desire
Oh honey, this is fine
Don't hesitate, I can't wait, love me
Yeah!

I want you to be in my heart(?)
Because it's a runnin' wild(?)
Got to make you mine
If just for a little while

Don't hesitate, I can't wait, love me
Love me, love me, love me

First heard this done by the Cramps. Usually their covers are more intense than the original, but this version is just as deranged as the Cramps’ version. I’m kinda blown away. Imagine hearing this back then? I bet people’s heads exploded. They literally sent teenagers away to mental hospitals for liking shit like this. Amazing

It's absurd what they did just to keep a pure society. I guess they just couldn't keep society pure anymore in the '70s. And now society is a mess.

The cramps often straight covers out of respect. Their version of Domino is bang on without the use of a bass.....

Shades of Elvis. Some bad-ass guitiar. perhaps the pedal steel.

Yeah that’s all I heard at first, sounds a lot like Elvis

Can you believe this guy was discovered by Pat Boone. (Ugh, then like every other insane rocker he immediately met his demise in a car wreck)

This song is so good, he is so energetic and desperate sounding throughout the entire thing, the reverb makes the space sound so empty, lonely, and creepy. There is this little wall of noise in the back during the guitar solo that adds another layer of wild to this song. This song is nuts and I love it!

It’s one of those “you aren’t ready for this yet but your kids will love it songs”
