The group was formed in 2011 in St. George, Utah, United States. They became famous through YouTube, where they posted videos of renditions and mashups of popular songs accompanied by professional-looking video shots. Over one million people subscribe to their Youtube channel.

In December 2011, they released their first album, titled YouTube Hits, Vol. 1. Their second album, The Piano Guys, reached number one on the Billboard New Age Albums and Classical Albums charts in 2012.

I discovered this song in August 2011, after my cousin died. After hearing it, for the first time in weeks I had a smile on my face. Thought she would enjoy this and the conversation between the instruments. Since then, every year, I'd return to this song and introduce it to another person going through a difficult time.

Today, another person fell in love with it, and me with her. Thank you for the magic.

This one will always be my favorite, the 2:35 melody sometimes starts playing in my head so I return to this video from time to time. It never gets boring no matter how many times you hear it - a sign of a true masterpiece.:D

Just saw Piano Guys in Concert at the Greek. They put on a varied, generous, interesting, and romantic show that included many mashups of classical and popular songs and lots of showmanship and humor. Kudos to all of their beautiful cinematography, sound, and editing . . oh, and don't forget the lighting guy.

Wow. I really mean wow. What was inspiring you guys back then? I think Moonlight and Michael Meets Mozart are of the highest quality. You could take an iPad back in time and the masters would applaud. I have the CD but I didn't see the videos until recently. Just wow! 😮

One evening last year I watched a video of the piano guys in concert in AZ surrounded by the red rocks. It was amazing. The cello was so soulful that I cried. I knew it was the instrument I needed to play. I saw them in concert last month at the Dr Philips Performing Arts Center in Orlando Florida. I've been playing the cello for a year now and I still cry when they play the "cello song!" You guys ROCK!
