1. the pillows (ザ・ピロウズ) are an alternative rock band from Hokkaidō, Japan, best known outside Japan for their contributions to the soundtrack of the anime series FLCL (Fooly Cooly).
They consist of 山中さわお (Sawao Yamanaka) -vocals & guitar-, 真鍋吉明 (Yoshiaki Manabe) -guitar-, 佐藤シンイチロウ (Shinichiro Sato) -drums-.
The band officially formed on September 16, 1989 as a four-man group. The fourth man and original bassist, (Kenji Ueda), left the band in 1992 to become a music producer and do solo work. Since then, 鹿島達也 (Tatsuya Kashima) and later 鈴木淳 (Jun Suzuki) have taken his place as supporting bassists. Neither Kashima nor Suzuki have been named official members out of respect for Ueda.
The band name is intentionally left without any capitalization.

And Hello!
The Pillows Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
※Get around! Get around!
Get around! Get around!
and Hello!※
Get around! Get around!
Get around! Get around!
Hello, good bye, so long
The opening lyrics of The Pillows’ song “And Hello!” are absurd and non-sensical, as they describe bringing a dog that was raised on waltz music to the party along with a cake made by the singer’s girlfriend. The singer then states that his heart is obedient even today. The chorus then repeats the words “Get around!” and “Hello, good bye, so long and Hello!” suggesting a desire for movement and change.
The second verse describes a dancer who cannot sleep due to jet lag removing all the curtains from the windows. The singer then sees a ghost outside the window and wonders which one of them died in the scuffle. The chorus repeats, and the lyrics then describe a diary full of prejudices and personal opinions being humorously scrawled upon.
Overall, the song seems to be capturing the frenetic energy of a party or gathering, and the desire for movement and change. The lyrics suggest that the singer is taking in all the strange sights and nonsensical aspects of the party with humor and bemusement.
