Rose sings the lead vocals on the song. The video is a cartoon-like with Judy driving around in a car and in the video Rose sings "stuff" instead of arse.
The song was later re-recorded and released as the fifth single from their debut album We Are the Pipettes. It was released on September 25, 2006. It is available on CD, double 7" vinyl, and digital download from Memphis Industries.

The Pipettes Lyrics

She used to do things I thought were rude
But I never said anything to her face
'Cause my friends thought she'd kick my arse all over the place
Used to think she was kinda cool
(Kind of cool)
Saw her walking all around the school
All the older boys would stop and turn their heads
All the older girls wished that she was dead
Judy, what you gonna do
When you're older and no one wants to know ya?
I will look out for you if you will look out for me
I know I'm not as hard as you
But I think I can see right through you
Now me and Judy we're the best of pals
(Best of pals)
She took me dancing to the early hours
(The early hours)
And she showed me things I've never seen
Mum always asked me where I'd been when I'm with
Judy, what you gonna do
When you're older and no one wants to know ya?
I will look out for you if you will look out for me
I know I'm not as hard as you
But I think I can see right through you
When you go home at night
Are you still looking for a fight?
You know you're mum is not that mean?
But still you want to rip out her spleen
Judy, what you gonna do
When you're older and no one wants to know ya?
I will look out for you if you will look out for me
I know I'm not as hard as you
But I think I can see right through you
What's in your head?
The Pipettes's song Judy is a narrative about a young girl named Judy, who is initially perceived as rude by the singer. The singer observes Judy's behavior and how she is perceived by others in their school. The older boys are attracted to her, while the older girls do not like her. Despite this, the singer feels a sense of empathy towards Judy and begins to see her in a different light. The two girls become best friends, and Judy shows the singer a side of life that she has never experienced before. However, the singer notices that Judy is still struggling with her aggressive behavior towards her family. The song concludes with the singer expressing her willingness to look out for Judy in the future and questioning what's going on inside Judy's head.

Best song on such a good debut album. Seriously, even though the pipettes were underrated - Riotbecki and Rosay shouldn't have left. The lyrics to all their songs were wonderful, and if they persisted a little longer with more albums then they would've been way more popular.

I L-U-V the pipettes. I just think that their music is so catchy and they're just so fun to dance to. This song is one of my favorites and even though they're not doing good on the charts, they're still musicians and they deserve some credit for recording songs and performing them in front of crowds. Luv U!!!
