Every Beat Of My Heart
The Pips Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

In every beat of my heart
There's a beat for you
In every toast of wine
There's a toast for you, oh, yes, it is

In all of my, my conversation
You're my, my inspiration
And everything I do
I'll do for you

Although we're, we're so far apart
My, my love is true, so true, true
In, in every, every beat of my heart
There's a beat for you

(In every beat of my heart)
Heart

This is the first song I ever heard by her, I was all of 5 or 6 years old, teenage sisters, running around, mom's was still a young woman, we couldn't get enough of this one. I remember loving Glady's voice even then. Ah, the memories.

I found this on an oldies but goodies record and I love it. It is not a well known song and I adore it so much. I am 10 and such icons for me are Dee Dee Sharp, Chubby Checker, The Orlons, and The Olympics. The ending of this song is astounding and beautiful.

If you look up the definition for the word "Class" you will find a photo of Gladys Knight next to it.  Through goods times and bad (because we all have them) Gladys remains the epitome of...Style & Grace!  Much love to you my Gladys today, tomorrow and for ALWAYS.

This song comes to mind every now and then, one of many classics.

When they recorded this, Gladys didn't know it was going to be a record. All she knew was she was singing in some guy's house. She was walking down the street with a high school classmate who kept telling her she loved Gladys' new song, and Gladys had no idea what she was talking about until they got to the record store and saw it on the shelves.

Gladys is one of the greats...that woman's voice is amazing. I went to one of her concerts and even without a microphone she was belting it across the stadium 💖 amazing 💖

So late 50's sound. This reminds me of the doo wop style of the 1950's. So wonderful to listen to!!
