(Now don't you touch me baby cause I'm shakin' so much)
Ah, well there ain't no other woman that makes me feel this way
(Don't you touch me baby cause I'm shakin' so much)
When she comes up close, well I just ain't got a word to say
(Don't you touch me baby cause I'm shakin' so much)
Ple-e-ease don't touch, I shake so much
Ple-e-ease don't touch, I sha-a-a-a-ake so much
(Well, don't you touch me baby cause I'm shakin' so much)
(Now don't you touch me baby cause I'm shakin' so much)
Ah, well I get so nervous when I see her eyes that shine
(Don't you touch me baby cause I'm shakin' so much)
She looks right through me and the chills run down my spine
(Don't you touch me baby cause I'm shakin' so much)
Ple-e-ease don't touch, I shake so much
Ple-e-ease don't touch, I sha-a-a-a-ake so much
Ah, well I don't know why she dug her claws in me
I wanna be a bachelor and fancy free
Runnin' from the preacher, boy, what a relief
I'm gonna spend my life a-shakin' like a leaf
Ah, well remembering the first time her ruby lips brushed my cheek
(Don't you touch me baby cause I'm shakin' so much)
I opened up my mouth, but the rest of me just wouldn't speak
(Don't you touch me baby cause I'm shakin' so much)
Ple-e-e-ase don't touch, I shake so much
Ple-e-e-ase don't touch, I sha-a-a-a-ake so much
(Ah, don't you touch me baby cause I'm shakin' so much)
Why, c'mon baby, don't you touch-a-me now
Because I'm shakin' so much
Why, c'mon baby, don't want ya to

The Pirates' song "Please Don't Touch" is a classic rock and roll tune that tells the story of a man who gets so nervous around a particular woman that he becomes physically shaky. The lyrics repeatedly implore the woman not to touch the singer, as it causes him to shake even more. The song conveys a sense of excitement and apprehension, as the singer is clearly intrigued by this woman but is also overwhelmed by his own feelings.
The first stanza sets the tone for the song, with the singer warning the woman not to touch him because he is shaking so much. He goes on to explain that there is no other woman who makes him feel this way. In the second stanza, the singer elaborates on his nervousness around the woman, describing how her gaze sends chills down his spine. The chorus is repeated throughout the song, with the singer pleading with the woman not to touch him because he shakes so much.
In the third stanza, the singer expresses his confusion about why the woman has such a hold on him. He wants to remain a bachelor but finds himself unable to resist her charms. The final stanza recounts the first time the woman touched him, and how it left him speechless. The song ends with the singer again imploring the woman not to touch him because he is shaking so much.
Overall, "Please Don't Touch" is a lively and energetic rock and roll song that captures the excitement and nervousness of a new romance. The repeated refrain of "ple-e-ease don't touch, I shake so much" adds to the sense of urgency conveyed in the lyrics.

This gem should have smashed the US charts back in 1959. A pity Young american lads missed this bomb.
One of my truly favourite R&R songs of all time.
Esta joya debería haber reventado las listas de éxitos en los EEUU justo en 1959 cuando el R&R agonizaba...
Una de mis canciones de rocanrol favoritas de todos los tiempos.
