Am I so lost in my sin
You ask me where did I fall
I'll say I can't tell you when
But if my spirit is lost
How will I find what is near
Don't question I'm not alone
Somehow I'll find my way home
My sun shall rise in the east
So shall my heart be at peace
And if you're asking me when
I'll say it starts at the end
You know your will to be free
Is matched with love secretly
And talk will alter your prayer
Somehow you'll find you are there
Your friend is close by your side
And speaks in far ancient tongue
A seasons wish will come true
All seasons begin with you
A world we all come from
One world we melt into one
Just hold my hand and we're there
Somehow we're going somewhere
You ask me where to begin
Am I so lost in my sin
You ask me where did I fall
I'll say I can't tell you when
But if my spirit is strong
I know it can't be long
No questions I'm not alone
Somehow I'll find my way home
The Pitchforks' song "Home" speaks to the human experience of feeling lost and searching for a sense of belonging. The lyrics suggest that although the journey may be difficult and uncertain, there is a hopefulness that one can find their way back home. The opening lines of the song, "You ask me where to begin / Am I so lost in my sin" highlight the sense of confusion and aimlessness that can come with feeling lost, but the following lines reveal a determination to find a way home, as the singer asserts, "Don't question I'm not alone / Somehow I'll find my way home."
The song's chorus emphasizes the importance of inner strength and perseverance in the midst of the journey, with lyrics such as "But if my spirit is lost / How will I find what is near" and "But if my spirit is strong / I know it can't be long / No questions I'm not alone / Somehow I'll find my way home." The notion of finding one's home is not only a physical search, but it can also be a search for a sense of purpose, belonging, and inner peace.
The second verse of the song speaks to the idea that sometimes the journey itself can be transformative, with the lyrics "And talk will alter your prayer / Somehow you'll find you are there." The final lines of the song suggest that the journey is not one that is taken alone, as the singer encourages a sense of communal support and connection: "Your friend is close by your side / And speaks in far ancient tongue / Just hold my hand and we're there / Somehow we're going somewhere."
