Recycled Air
The Postal Service Lyrics

I take a breath and pull the air in 'til there's nothing left
I'm feeling green like teenage lovers between the sheets

Ba ba ba ba

Knuckles clenched to white as the landing gear retract for flight
My head's a balloon inflating with the altitude

Ba ba ba ba
I watch the patchwork farms' slow fade into the ocean's arms
And from here they can't see me stare
The stale taste of recycled air
I watch the patchwork farms' slow fade into the ocean's arms
Calm down, release your cares
The stale taste of recycled air

me

And pull the air in until there's nothing left
I'm feeling green
Like teenage lovers between the sheets

Ba ba ba ba . . .

Knuckles clenched to white
As the landing gear retract for flight
My head's a balloon
Inflating with the altitude

Ba ba ba ba . . .

I watch the patchwork farms
Slow fade into the ocean's arms
And from here they can't see me stare

Calm down, release your cares
The stale taste of recycled air

My mother showed me this band as a child when I was 8 years old. I'll be 23 in 2 months.
She passed when I was 16, but this band just reminds me of a vacation we took to Colorado to go snowboarding/skiing.

Upon listening to this album I can feel the crisp morning air in the snow glazed Colorado mountains.
Truly a beautiful experience, probably the most freeing experience I've ever felt.

Wish I could hug you I'm glad you were left with some good memories from what it sounds like <3

When i saw this comment i teared up. My father showed me this album on a dad-daughter trip to colorado and every time i listen to it it takes me back to the feeling of driving through the rockies. I am so sorry for your loss and may she rest in peace❤️

I’m so sorry for your loss. I can connect with how you are feeling because my then-oldest aunt passed away more than three years ago at the age of 68, and she used to share her music with me every time she would babysit. I was only 15 when she left, which is similar to how old you were when your mother did the same.

So happy for you friend 💚🌱

It's amazing how amazingly well all of these songs have held up through the years.

I'm sitting here wowed by the elements, clarity, melodies and vocals that have been crafted into such a beautiful musical landscape like I've never heard before. Wow. It's like listening to a painting of an island being flown over and through the trees by a bird native to the land. All in shifting colors.

This is a criminally underrated band

I had this album on my mp3 player in elementary school (my siblings music from itunes on it that they picked, something you'll never see nowadays lol). My favorite song was brand new colony. I was severely disappointed when they moved to death cab for cutie, I still am not much of a fan of them. There music isn't "bad" but I still think it was a huge mistake on their part.
