The band released their self-titled first album in March 1995 via PopLlama Records. After they garnered massive acclaim, Columbia Records quickly signed them. The album peaked at number six on the Billboard 200 and has shipped over three million copies. The RIAA has certified it as triple platinum. Songs "Peaches", "Kitty", "Lump", and "Dune Buggy" received major airplay.
Their 1996 follow-up album, "II", did not reach the same acclaim, though it reached the top forty on the Billboard 2000. Single "Mach 5" also garnered some airplay. The band then fell of the radar for many listeners, dropped by their major label. However, their albums of the new millennium, 'Freaked Out and Small' followed by 'Love Everybody' and 'These Are the Good Times People' (released in 2000, 2004, and 2008, respectively), picked up positive critical reviews, such as from the All Music Guide. Although their touring schedule became more sporadic into the 00s and 10s, they continue to perform and satisfy audiences with their off-beat humor and catchy hooks.
TV Eye
The Presidents of the United States of America Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Flat on his back
See that kid
Flat on his back
He got a TV eye on me
He got a TV eye
He got a TV eye on me, oh
See that girl
Flat on her back
See that girl
Flat on her back
She got a TV eye on me
She got a TV eye
She got a TV eye on me, oh
In the song TV Eye by The Presidents of the United States of America, the first two lines set the scene with two separate individuals both lying flat on their backs. The repetition of this line emphasizes the visual aspect of the song and creates a sense of stagnation and inactivity. The lyrics "He got a TV eye on me" suggest that this person is fixated on the TV, almost as if they are unable to look away. This line could have a deeper meaning, hinting at the idea of how TV and media can have a powerful pull and influence over individuals, distracting them from the world around them.
The same can be said for the lyrics about the girl with a "TV eye on me". The use of the term "TV eye" in both cases creates a sense of uniformity and universality, suggesting that these individuals are not unique and that many others might be in the same situation. The repetition of these lines throughout the song leaves a lasting impression on the listener, highlighting the dangers of becoming too consumed by something and losing sight of the world around us.

He was so tough his nickname was old hickory.
The most impressive he did was survive multiple assassination attempts while he was trying to kill off the First National Bank of america. He realized that it was a parasitic and evil organization that was attempting to gradually financially enslave america.
The First National Bank, and the Second National Bank are what is now referred to as the Federal Reserve
It's the same group of banking families that have traditionally conniving their way into politics in order to manipulate and defraud citizens.
The first and second National Bank for private organizations. Just like our current federal reserve is, it is not a government organization although it is given the appearance of it in order to make Americans not question it. Otherwise they would question its existence and realize they didn't need it.
Andrew Jackson recognize that the First National Bank / Federal Reserve of that time was the single biggest threat to American freedom and democracy.
Once he began fighting to shut it down and kick the parasitic Bankers out of government, the assassination attempts began.
The biggest and closest call came when an assassin closed in on him at Point Blank Range, firing two dueling pistols. Both of which misfired!
Jackson being Jackson immediately took his cane and began beating the shit out of the guy! He would have killed the assassin if several Congressmen, including Daniel Boone, hadn't stepped in to save and arrest the killer.
Throughout his life, Andrew Jackson considered him ending the Federal Reserve / First National Bank as being the single most important thing he had done to Serve and Protect America.
On his deathbed, Jackson's last words were reported to be "I killed The Bank!". He died happy and with the thanks of many grateful americans.
Sadly, modern day Americans do not understand what the Federal Reserve truly is.
