The official music video, directed by Meiert Avis and Chris LeDoux, was filmed in Brooklyn and was postponed due to legal issues involving censorship, since Taylor was 16 at the time and got naked in some scenes. It premiered on September 15, 2010 on iTunes and VEVO.
Momsen said that "Make Me Wanna Die" was the most significant in her mind while releasing the album. "There was no real formula to the way that we wrote. It’s hard to define that, but ‘Make Me Wanna Die’ [is my favorite song] if I had to pick one. It was the first song written for the record, so it kind of defined the direction" she said for MTV Interview.
