Firestarter
The Prodigy Lyrics
I'm the trouble starter, punkin' instigator
I'm the fear addicted, a danger illustrated
I'm a firestarter, twisted firestarter
You're the firestarter, twisted firestarter
I'm a firestarter, twisted firestarter
I'm the bitch you hated, filth infatuated, yeah
I'm the pain you tasted, fell intoxicated
I'm a firestarter, twisted firestarter
You're the firestarter, twisted firestarter
I'm the self inflicted, mind detonator, yeah
I'm the one infected, twisted animator
I'm a firestarter, twisted firestarter
You're the firestarter, twisted firestarter
I'm a firestarter, twisted firestarter starter

The title and lyrics were subject of controversy in the UK because of their violent nature. The music video further boosted these controversies.
The songwriting credits—among Liam Howlett and Keith Flint—include Kim Deal of alt-rock group The Breeders. The looped wah-wah guitar riff in "Firestarter" was sampled from The Breeders' track "S.O.S." from the album Last Splash. Because of the use of a sample from a 1984 single "Close (To the Edit)" songwriting credits also list Art of Noise's then-members: Anne Dudley, Trevor Horn, J.J. Jeczalik, Gary Langan and Paul Morley. The "Emperion Mix," which does not include these samples, is credited solely to Howlett and Flint.

RIP Keith. I’m so heartbroken rn 💔 You and The Prodigy inspired me in so many ways. The style, the grunge, the sound. In my alternate world I was an adult in 1997 living in London smoking cigs, wearing cyberpunk goth clothes, hacking into government mainframes from a floppy disk, with colorful sweated out hair ❤️ this might not make sense to some but yea. The Fat of the Land delivers me to a place that has no social media, no fake ass people, no bullshit. I become a small speck in a big city. Basically what I’m tryna say is the music makes me feel like I’m in the movie Hackers, Akira or The Crow lol. Although I’m very sad, I Thank you and the group for taking me to a place that’s beyond the present and inspiring my very soul. The Fat of The Land will be PLAYED FOREVER on FULL BLAST! 🤘🏽🤘🏽💻

Fucking hell my dude, those are the words that should inspire even the most drab of mouth breathers that need a voice to be the voice in their little filled gelatinous sewer of a cranium. You my friend are the Firestarter. I want to start a revolution or rob a banking institution or at the very least punch the next motorist in the face through their window for inappropriately honking their horn at the less fortunate of any kind or level. I just want to wear a trench coat and scream in someone's face " fuck these covid rules" then because I am over 50 years old apologize and calmly excuse myself from this uptight restaurant and really someone should have stopped me from listening to Firestarter and this 10 year Olds birthday party. Man people have no class anymore. "Twisted Firestarter hey hey hey hey!"

@Maximilian Dummnichtswürdigkerl me either and now my always angry heart hurts even more suicide is a selfish thing taking yourself away from all who love you forever. So many suicides in my family and circle of friends so I know the painful sting of loss when someone decides to take themselves away from us forever. It sucks it really sucks.

@Deathshot44 right on. I never judge people by the way they worship or believe. A spiritual program is A spiritual program.
