The group was founded in 2004 by Puppini after she was inspired by the 2003 animated film Les Triplettes de Belleville. The Puppini Sisters' debut single, "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy", is a cover of the iconic hit single by The Andrews Sisters, and although the three are not actually related, they named themselves in tribute to them.
Puppini first studied fashion design at St. Martins School of Art, and later music at Trinity College of Music where she met Mullins and Rosanna Schura, who was later replaced by Stephanie O'Brien. The Sisters are currently supported by a three-piece band featuring the talents of Blake Wilner on guitar, Peter Ibbetson on drums/percussion and Henrik Jensen on upright bass.
The Puppini Sisters won a Gold Disc for international sales of their first CD, Betcha Bottom Dollar, in 2007. According to their official website, the album reached #2 on the US Jazz Charts and #9 on the US New Artist Chart.
Their second album The Rise & Fall of Ruby Woo was released on October 15th 2007, featuring classic covers, 1940s style reworkings of contemporary music, and a selection of original compositions. According to Billboard's official website, the album peaked at #5 in the US Jazz Charts in 2008.
The Puppini Sisters' retro-styled website won the 2008 Cream of Yorkshire awards "Gold Award" for best website.

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I got the heebie jeebies
And I'm talking about
Got the Heebie Jebbie Blues
We fall in love
Come on now just a little bit joy say
Baby don't ya know
Come on show it
Say come on down, and do that dance
called the heebie, heebie jeebie dance
called the heebie jeebie dance
I've been having 'em
Having 'em all day long
I've got the heebies
But I can't go wrong
Cos when I got them, I just roll along
Now listen everybody, while I sing my song
I'm talking 'bout the dance that makes you shake your shoes
The dance that gives your folks
The heebie jeebie blues
It's called the heebie jeebie dance
The heebie jeebie dance
OH! I got the heebies
I got the heebie jeebies
And I'm talking about
Got the Heebie Jebbie Blues
We fall in love
Come on now just a little bit joy say
Baby don't ya know
Come on show it
And we don't feel Blue
Say come on down, and do that dance
called the heebie, heebie jeebie dance
called the heebie jeebie dance
Baby Don't ya know
Come on show it
And we don't feel Blue
Say come on down, and do that dance
called the heebie jeebie dance young man
Called the heebie jeebie dance

Come on now just a little bit joy say
Baby don't ya know

And we don't feel Blue
Say come on down, and do that dance

called the heebie jeebie dance
I got the heebie jeebies
What ya doing with the heebies?
Man I got those heebies
Got those heebies, the heebie jeebie blues...
The lyrics of The Puppini Sisters’ song Heebie Jeebies seems to suggest that the singer is experiencing an undeniable sensation that can be likened to shivering excitement, or a nervous feeling taking over their body. The line "I got the heebies" repeats multiple times, emphasizing the discomfort the singer is feeling. The lyrics also suggest that the "heebies" are contagious and can be spread through an act of dancing. This intent behind the song is to create a fun and vibrant atmosphere- a song and dance that energizes anyone who hears it. The lyrics also imply that this dance can bring people together and banish whatever blues they might have.
The chorus of the song emphasizes the message being conveyed, that the singer wants to see everyone up and dancing, forgetting their troubles - "Come on now just a little bit joy say, Baby don't ya know, Come on show it, And we don't feel Blue". The repetitive use of the phrase "heebie jeebie dance" and the dance instructions also allude to the idea of people letting go of their inhibitions and embracing the fun that comes with dancing.
