The group had its biggest hit in 1992 with She Goes Nana. This song also went to number 1 in The Netherlands, a year after it was already a huge hit in Belgium. Some other hits the band had were I'm Into Folk, Walking the Thin Line, She's My Lover and Dreaming Wild.
In 1994, the band broke up, and the members went their own separate ways.

We've had enough for a long time
And who's it gonna be?
Someone that's free from a list of crimes
You know it
Get up get up get up come on now
The radio will get you down
And all your chances
They went out for hire
All day long
The same mistakes
With all the time
For commercial breaks
I see you dancing
Took all your chances
See you dancing
Take all your chances
Go license a satellite
Another sound it dies tonight
This signal is clear and bright
Deregulation, it don't sit right
The Radios's "Radio" is an enigmatic song with a critical undertone to the rampant commercialization of the music industry. The song is a critique of the current state of radio, its limitations, and its influence on people, who are merely dancing to please the beat. The opening lines, "This is how it's going to be/ We've had enough for a long time/ And who's it gonna be?/ Someone that's free from the list of crimes," captures the angst and frustration of The Radios. They are tired of the same old music being played around the clock and seek a fresh sound, unencumbered by the commercial motives of major radio stations.
The Radios go on to talk about how the radio gets people down and sees them standing on the wire waiting for their chances. In contrast, their chances have gone out for hire, which reflects how corporations prioritize commercial gain over musical talent. The lines "All day long/ The same mistakes/ With all the time/ For commercial breaks" depict how the radio is just a repetitive loop of mediocre music with no room for creativity or experimentation.
Overall, The Radios's "Radio" is a searing indictment of the music industry's commercialization that severely restricts artists' creativity and music lovers' diverse listening experiences. It is a call to end this state of affairs and create a fresh and vibrant music scene with opportunities for innovative artists to showcase their talent.

The Radio's β Teardrops
Something in the words you never said
Makes me feel I ain't seen nothing yet
Catch me now I'm falling,
Hear the angels calling,
Calling somewhere deep inside my head
Close encounters of a different kind
Open up the part that's hidden inside
Many hearts get broken
While words are left unspoken
Leaving nothing but a worried mind
We could flow like teardrops on the ocean
We could flow like water to the sea
It may sound unclever
We'd last forever
If you want to stay with me
If you want to stay with me
Never now for sure what's coming up
Sad the echo-beat will never stop
You're the one and only
But if you leave me lonely
You might as well let all the curtains drop...
We could flow like teardrops on the ocean
We could flow like water to the sea
It may sound unclever
We'd last forever
If you want to stay with me
If you want to stay with me
Instrumental solo
We could flow like teardrops on the ocean
We could flow like water to the sea
It may sound unclever
We'd last forever
If you want to stay with me
If you'd just lay love on me...

This song reminds me of my childhood. I heard this song was playing in my uncle's car but failed to recognize the title nor the singer. All along, I was sure that the song I heard was Hotel California but then, today, I found out about this band and this song. Yes, this is the one I heard not Hotel California. So nostalgic! I'm happy I found this song. Also RIP to my uncle. π

I listened to this song in 1994, until now it's still enjoyable to listen to, timeless, songs with rhythms and lyrics that represent my feelings at that time, it's really extraordinary band
