My Hawaii
The Rascals Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Oh Hawaii
My Hawaii
Skies are blue
The sea's a thousand hues of green
In Hawaii
Waves keep breaking
In each rise and fall
They call
For me

Oh Hawaii
Island Maui
I'll return to fantasy and moon
All the people
On these islands
Make it more adored than paradise
In bloom

There are no words to describe what is felt in your heart
When your heart has already seen the magic of all the islands

On these islands
Called Hawaii
Man awakes
To find this dream divine
Oh Hawaii
My Hawaii
I'll return to stay and spend my life
All my days
In Hawaii
Oh

Oh Hawaii
Oh

Like 99% of the rock and pop bands who've come to Hawaii, the Rascals fell in love with the splendor of the islands and its amazing people and the spirit of Aloha. The world could learn a lot from the people of Hawaii.

The water lapping at the shores of some of the secluded coves can be hypnotic; maybe part of the formula which led to the demise and vanishing of the mongoose.

I grew up with this song. Being born and raised in Hawaii and in that era (the late 60s and early 70s)it was golden! I love the rascals and the local bands used to play a lot of their songs at high school dances. This was and still is one of my all time favorites from the rascals. I’m glad someone made it into a video. Aloha to the Rascals for wring and performing My Hawaii!
