Into was released in 2001 and went double platinum in Finland debuting at #1. The first single F-F-F-Falling was #1 in Finland during three months in early 2001. The band finally gained international fame with their 2003 album Dead Letters which went gold and platinum in several countries, accompanied with the single In the Shadows which reached #1 in a number of countries. iTunes Music Store offered the track as one of its free singles, a positive public response prompted many listeners to buy the rest of the album. During the 2004 Reading Festival in England, the band was pelted with plastic bottles filled with urine and mud (an act reserved for the worst band on the bill each year) until they eventually walked offstage when immediate medical attention was required for Eero's eye.

Feels like time is standing still
So many people and I'm feelin' shy
I would with pleasure pass away
(no one can complain)
I don't care it is a Saturday
I'll spend rest of day at home
Won't go home and spoil another day
I got a feeling that I'm breaking
And my hands are shaking
My heart is bumping
And I'm trying to relax or something
(Feeling low/waisting my time)
I feel like stone when someone talks to me
Can't get a word out of my mouth
It is bad habit it will always be
I would with pleasure pass away
Slipping in corners like I've made something
Which has made me feel so small
I know I haven't got that dignity
This is my chance to be not me
I got a feeling that I'm breaking
And my hands are shaking
My heart is bumping
And I'm trying to relax or something
(Feeling low/waisting my time)
I got a feeling that I'm breaking
And my hands are shaking
My heart is bumping
And I'm trying to relax or something
(Feeling low/waisting my time)
I got a feeling that I'm breaking
And my hands are shaking
My heart is bumping
And I'm trying to relax or something
(Feeling low/waisting my time)
The Rasmus's song "Fool" is about feeling restless and disconnected from the world around you. The lyrics describe a state of mind where everything seems to be standing still, and the singer feels paralyzed, unable to engage with other people. The chorus repeats the line "I've got a feeling that I'm breaking," which is a clear indication that the character is struggling with some sort of internal conflict.
The verse about being unable to speak when someone talks to them conveys a sense of anxiety and social awkwardness. The singer is frustrated with himself for not being able to communicate effectively, and he wishes he could disappear. He talks about slipping into corners and feeling small, which highlights his lack of confidence and self-esteem.
The overall theme of the song seems to be about the struggle to find one's place in the world and to feel like you belong. The singer longs for a chance to be someone else - to escape from his own insecurities and frustrations. The line "This is my chance to be not me" conveys a desire to break free from his own limitations and find a sense of freedom.
In summary, "Fool" is a commentary on the struggle to find oneself and connect with others. It's a song about feeling lost and disconnected, and the difficulty in breaking free from one's own limitations.
