During the 2004 Reading Festival in England, the band was pelted with plastic bottles filled with urine and mud (an act reserved for the worst band on the bill each year) until they eventually walked offstage when immediate medical attention was required for Eero's eye.

The Rasmus Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
It's like a rope between you n' your fellows.
It's like a web, you're stuck. How could it be so that
Some people don't always know how they feel?
When you can talk to somebody who you can trust.
When you can lie to that somebody when you must.
It's like health, respect, because you still got one.
It's like freedom, making some people jealous.
It's like a rope between you n' your fellows.
It's like a web, you're stuck. How could it be so that
Some people don't always know how they feel?
The lyrics to The Rasmus's song Panda explore the concept of personal freedom and the mixed reactions it can elicit in others. The opening lines suggest that some people may feel jealous of one's freedom, possibly alluding to the fact that some individuals may feel inhibited or bound by social norms and expectations, and thus envious of those who are able to break free from those constraints. The use of the metaphor of a rope between individuals emphasizes the idea that one's freedom is interconnected with their relationships with others, and that sometimes these relationships can either support or hinder an individual's sense of freedom. The lyrics suggest that freedom can be empowering, but also highlight the idea that it can sometimes feel like being stuck in a web, perhaps alluding to the fact that true freedom can come with its own set of challenges.
The second half of the song focuses more on the positive aspects of freedom and emphasizes the importance of trust and honesty in relationships. The lyrics suggest that being able to talk to somebody who you can trust is an important aspect of freedom, and that being able to be honest with that person is crucial even if it means telling a lie. The lyrics seem to be suggesting that this type of trust and honesty is something that can foster a sense of respect and good health, both mentally and emotionally. The repetition of the chorus towards the end of the song reinforces the idea that freedom is something that not everyone understands or is able to fully appreciate.
